ChaoticEric
So the interpretation of "... regardless of line of sight, being locked in combat..." Is that it only applies to the target and not the model casting it? tylerw
We're gonna play it with the standard rules and see how it goes. So, exactly how it's meant to be played then? Also, some blog I read the other day tried to come up with an argument for using a witchfire NOVA when in close combat. This is incorrect, right? as it is witchfire and it can't be used while in close combat. Don't read blogs for rules advice, they'll give you brain damage. When in doubt just read the rules again carefully. Witchfires (regardless of type) can never be cast whilst you're engaged in melee. Nova's do hit all units in their range though, regardless of what they are doing (it's why they're hilarious to use against FMC's or Flyers, as they auto-hit). Or do what he did and read them for more exposure to rules questions/interesting thoughts, and apply critical thinking. Then ask questions so people can correct mistakes. It's a decent way to learn more about the rules. Raktra
People are still getting in a flap over Cleansing Flame when Invisibility exists? And potentially on a Primarch? Good Lord. Reclusiarch Darius
So by that logic you are also saying that nova can't hit units that are locked in combat because it's Witchfire? I'm only asking because it's my understanding of the rule from reading it as is with no attempt to 'twist' it in my favour. Read the nova rules. So the interpretation of "... regardless of line of sight, being locked in combat..." Is that it only applies to the target and not the model casting it? Read the rules for witchfire powers Or do what he did and read them for more exposure to rules questions/interesting thoughts, and apply critical thinking. Then ask questions so people can correct mistakes. It's a decent way to learn more about the rules. The problem with blogs is that they're incredibly opinionated. At least on the forums stupid ideas can be washed out through discussion. On a blog its literally just the writers opinion, and their opinions can be incredibly wrong at times. So, grain of salt and all that. People are still getting in a flap over Cleansing Flame when Invisibility exists? And potentially on a Primarch? Good Lord. Apparently reading is hard. Reclusiarch Darius
Your condescending retorts might make you feel important, but they are adding literally nothing to this discussion. Nah, they make me feel right ;) . I'm simply saying read the rules. I've already explained several times how 'Cleansing Flame' works, I don't see the need to repeat myself endlessly when people can just read and understand themselves. I'll let this thread remain open for now. But if nobody else has anything further to add, I might lock it and move on. The rules forum exists for this purpose, you don't need to create threads on the faction forums for it. Zeratul29
@ravernn LOL You can't use a witchfire if the unit attempting to cast it is locked in close combat. If you're not locked in close combat then you can cast it and it CAN hit ENEMY models LOCKED in close combat.
