Warlord Traits (NSF)

So lets talk warlord traits. It is consensus that a NDK is our warlord, right? So which table is the best to choose from?

I would say personal trait - as 5 FNP and 6 IWND + fearless are supergood.

 

Now, most of us play NSF - this means no reroll for this table as it's reroll GK traits only (see codex) and a 1/3 chance to get the "good" traits".

What do? Accept the low chance or is there a better table to choose from?

I roll on the GK table with Libbies. The 6 result is worth the shot, I feel.

For me it depends mostly on my army list. If I'm using sanctic then I'll likely have the book  but I'll be fishing for certain powers so I'll roll on NSF. 

 

If not relying quite so heavily on deep strike and/or not using sanctic then I'll roll strategic. Its pretty much that simple for me. 

 

Now I'm branching into allies so I will usually roll on strategic, or another factions possibly, again list dependent.

If it's a pure GK, NSF list, I'll roll on GK traits, otherwise I'll probably do strategic.

Personally I was trying that NDK warlord for a while, but sometimes it becomes the priority target, and is a bit easy to kill him and score a VP. Because NDKs most of times will be too close to the enemy. Even I've rolled 5s and 6s on that table... and the result is AWESOME!

Dreadknight shouldn't always be your Warlord. Librarians can be a good choice if you keep them alive. It's an amusing ability, but DK's in my experience get shot to hell by the enemy, and they're usually doing the bulk of the fighting and dying in your list. I'd view them as expendable, because they are. 

 

Warlord traits are random, so I can't really recommend you base strategy or tactics off it. Until GW move on from their obsession with random tables for everything (muh forged narrative!), its just another minor buff you can't ever rely on. Hell, even psychic powers have the fig leaf of Primaris.
