Enigami
Hey all, I'e recently been a huge Horus Heresy fan fielding a substantial Death Guard Army. I'm now looking into Solar Auxillia. I haven't been able to find much on their strategy or how to field them so I am asking the communities help. Plus, I've never fielded a guard army before. I have posted my list in the army list section, but I'm afraid it might get lost in all the SM lists. You can find my army list here http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300724-solar-auxillia-1500pts/. Any comments or criticism on the list are welcome. Here, I'd like to start a general open discussion on the Solar Auxillia. My first impression is that any list needs to rely heavily on the Dracosan transport. All the anti tank options seem so expensive they restrict the list. So I feel like bringing a lot of my anti tank in the form the transports. I'm not a fan of spending 175+ on each Leman Russ. However, I do like the Malcador for my heavy support slot needs. What do you all think? heron
I am just getting mine up and running- starting off with an allied force to support my Questoris Knights.. I actually think they will play pretty differently than Imperial Guard- they might be a little more comparable to a hybrid between Militarum tempestus and the Sisters of Battle- high BS with loads of specialized shooting... I think you are right to focus on the synergy with the transports- the Dracosan seems solid, and it runs about 300 pts to put a storm section into a demolisher-cannon tank. Why would you not want to take 3-4 of these? Back them up with 1-2 Lightning strike fighters (sadly they don't seem to have access to the Avenger...) and top it off with a Malcador and you have a lot of firepower on the table. When the Charonite Ogryn are released, the army will add in some serious melee power, and I would expect to see them riding in a stormlord.
