Week 7/8 League (The one with the stupid rules!)

Week 7:

 

GK (765) vs. Chaos SM (1070 pt)

 

Game mode: Killpoint

 

I brought:

NDK (incinerator, Psycannon, sword, teleporter) 225

NDK (incinerator, Psycannon, sword, teleporter) 225

Stormraven (melta, plasma cannon, extra armor) 205

Librarian (Basic) 110

 

Chaos brought a sorcerer, some basic C:SM, some beasts with a ton of wounds, a flyer, and two squads of 15+ guys.

 

Long story short:

 

NDK #1 did insane damage, went out in a blaze of glory

NDK #2 (IWND) Did even more damage. Took a wound here or there but got them back EVERY time with IWND.

 

Both NDKs had flamers which was huge for shrouded + being in cover.  Was able to take out his squad of C:SM pretty well considering they had a 2+ cover.

 

I also used the NDKs flame template to take out some huge squad he had using double template.  took out the squad with just those two. was pretty amazing.

 

The Stormraven was also pretty awesome. He did manage to hit it a few times, but it went all good and eventually took out his flyer.

 

End of the game: 4 to 1 KP. Win for GK

 

 

Week 8 was a bit more tough.  I made some purchases of things I wanted, plus a friend of mine won an Eldar army on ebay so I got him his first codex, plus bought some Psyker models (Wyrdvane?)

 

Got me up to enough points to try something I'd been interested in doing for a while.

 

GK (~885) vs. Demons (1100~)

 

This was a king of the hill match-up.

 

The NDK was super amazing as always.  Dropped his chariot pretty fast, and got a few wounds dished out using sanctuary, but eventually died to low AP weaponry.

 

I ran 4 Paladins (1psycannon), 1 Apothecary, 1 Librarian, and Draigo as a squad.  The librarian maintained sanctuary almost forever, was epic.  He also landed vortex.

 

he held the point for most of the game.. i contested a few points. the final of the game was getting my big squad to the hill. Contested it, took it, and ended the game there.

 

Game ended 4/4. A complete tie. was amazing.

Glad the Daemon game wasn't a complete curbstomp. I feel we're actually broken as hell against them these days. Besides Princes and GD's they just don't have anything that can take on DK's reliably, we roll over their infantry and heavy infantry really easily.
