Hyuzanriu
What are people using to get the writing on their purity seals. I read somewhere that it was a kind of marker but I cannot seem to find a marker that writes thinly enough. Could someone give me a brand or a picture or something of the kind of marker they are using. If I am remembering wrong and it is not a marker, what size brush are you using to do the writing? Thanks for the help in advance, though I probably thank you again later. Kierdale
I use a 003 Deleter Neopiko-Line-2. Basically an extremely fine pen. I used to try to do very short squggles on the parchment but have taken to instead doing lots and lots of dots in lines. It looks far more like text. Alternatively (I got this from a Golden Demon winner but haven't tried it): dilute some black paint down thin, and use a modelling knife to sharpen a wooden toothpick to an extreme point. Use that, again making dots, to do the `text`. Takes a lot of time and you will lose a portion of your sanity, I'm reliably informed. AndrewChristlieb
I use an Insane detail brush from TAP. http://shop.thearmypainter.com/products.php?ProductGroupId=6 I could also see using an ultra fine Sharpie if you're only needing black. http://www.sharpie.com/enNZ/Products/Pages/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=SharpieUltraFinePointPermanentMarker%28Sharpie%20Catalog%29 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300991-writing-on-purity-seals/#findComment-3900483 Share on other sites
Grand Master Belial
I use a drafting pin .01 mm. I get them at a dedicated art supply store with the other architectural supplies. I usually get mine from Dick Blick. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300991-writing-on-purity-seals/#findComment-3900484 Share on other sites
NovemberIX
I've done purity seals a couple different ways, dotting with micron pens have given me the best results, sharpie also makes some ultra fine pens in different colors as well. Fibonacci
I use a drafting pin .01 mm. I get them at a dedicated art supply store with the other architectural supplies. I usually get mine from Dick Blick. This. Also called rapidograph pens or technical pens. They give a constant line width for engineering and architect drawings. Hyuzanriu
Awesome thank you all very much. I shall not commence ordering so that my purity seals don't look so darn plain. Olis
Any 0.2mm or 0.1mm fine liner pen will do really. Personally, I use the Micron 005 which is a 0.2mm, mainly because it was what was available at the time of purchase. twopounder
I did this with a .001 micron pen. Seems to work pretty good: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/GunMonkey/Space%20Marines/IMG_20140122_032733_004_zps6652b721.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300991-writing-on-purity-seals/#findComment-3900682 Share on other sites
Bryan Blaire
I use a 000 W&N Series 7 brush with Rhinox Hide to do all the text on my purity seals and most of the larger script letters on the scrolls as well. appiah4
I use this, in 0.3 and find its just about fine enough. I may go for 0.2 if I can find one but 0.1 would probably be too fine..http://torrespapelaria.com.br/product_images/v/130/eco_pi__87953_zoom.JPG EDIT: Here's a recent example of some purity seals I scribbled with the 0.3; I'll have something better to add this weekend (finished handwriting on a banner). http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_8363/gallery_60983_8363_48768.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/300991-writing-on-purity-seals/#findComment-3900861 Share on other sites
