L30n1d4s
Of all the potential ally combinations possible for Blood Angels, I think bringing an allied Thunder Wolf Cavalry pack to escort Dante may be one of the top picks: -TWC make the whole unit (including Dante) majority T5, so reduce his vulnerability to torrent of fire. Additionally, TWC can take Storm Shields at quite a reasonable price, meaning you can Look out Sir AP2 attacks from Dante onto the TWC and they have a good chance of absorbing them (better than Dante's 4++ anyhow). -Dante can use his EW to absorb S10 hits away from TWC, preventing them from being IDed and losing an expensive model to a single unsaved wound. Additionally, Dante's 2+ save is great for tanking bolter fire (better than the TWC 3+ save) and he gives the entire unit Fearless and Hit and Run, making them both more reliable and more tactically flexible. -Combat-wise, Dante's I6 S6 AP2 attacks are a great compliment to the TWC, which put out a lot of S5 rending attacks and can even add some AP3 attacks (i.e. PW, Wolf Claws, etc.) or AP2 attacks (Frost Axe, PF, etc.) making the combined unit a threat to all forms of infantry and even vehicles. To capitalize on this deathstar even more, in addition to Dante attach a Biker Sanguinary Priest (for FNP to the whole unit and WS7 to Dante) and a Biker Rune Priest with Divination (for improved Deny the Witch and the ability to give re-rolls to hit to everyone via Prescience). Now, this is an expensive unit, but it definitely should make it across the board against all but the most intense enemy firepower and be able to charge in turn 2-3 to tear up the enemy lines. If required, Dante (and even the Rune Priest and Sanguinary Priest, in a pinch) can split off and charge separate units from the TWC, giving you the ability to tie up multiple enemy squads in CC all at once. Raktra
It'd be a good excuse to make these at least:http://studiojollyroger.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/BAkonALL.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/301007-thunderwolf-escort-for-dante/#findComment-3900817 Share on other sites
Joasht
I tinkered with this list possibility, but once you add in some Iron Priests on TW mounts, you find that the Deathstar goes into the range of four digits. Frater Cornelius
You do this at the cost of Fleet though. Keep that in mind. I consider Fleet invaluable for assault units. Morticon
Love the idea of mounted BA, but would want them on something suitably large and imposing lie TWC. Those horses are too dinky, in my mind, to support the 8ft of massive armoured dudes. Their horses are a touch bigger than a TWC, as are the riders, should you choose the baroque looks. Frater Cornelius
Why would anyone even have a single blood knight? 80€ for 5 models? I think it was supposed to be an april fools joke and the only insider of that joke died or something. veneratedaniel
Sounds like a decent idea, just gives your opponent a good target for any large blasts via vindicators, imperial knights and even smaller barrage weapons like thunder fire cannons, Sure thunderfire might not kill them all but might put in enough wounds to start causing problems Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/301007-thunderwolf-escort-for-dante/#findComment-3901102 Share on other sites

Frater Cornelius
That Dino is way too big. It comes into tank territory with it's size. If you want dino mounts, get Cold Ones (Dark Elves). BassWave
That Dino is way too big. It comes into tank territory with it's size. If you want dino mounts, get Cold Ones (Dark Elves).No. Cold ones are too small to make it look good. The best dinosaur that was comparable in size to thunder wolves was the old carnosaur model which unfortunately is discontinued (extinct). Or you can play up the vampire themes of the BA and have them ride Varguulfs, like the creator of the aforementioned horses did. The guy he made even has an axe like Dante... Hope you like it.
