bigted
Hello brothers I was lucky enough to get a set of Sanguinary Guard for Christmas. My problem is I'm not sure the best way to paint the gold armour. I've spent a long time browsing the internet looking for a decent tutorial, but none of them have really helped. I tried painting gold once, and it was a disaster (the fact that I only had one gold paint at the time, shining gold, probably didn't help .) Anyway, I was hoping you guys could help me out. Thanks! ferrus
A great method that I use is to paint a solid base coat of Runefang Steel and the apply a coat of Seraphim Sepia Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/301116-painting-sang-guard/#findComment-3902852 Share on other sites
Bryan Blaire
What is it exactly that you are looking to do? Do you just want a basic Base -> Shade -> Layer, or do you want something more complicated like Non-Metallic Metal or True Metallic Metal? Â If you just want them to look cool and paint fast using the Steel+Sepia method should do just fine. Â Â If you want them to make your opponent hate you, lol, that will take some effort but is totally doable. bigted
I want them to look really good, as in centerpiece model good. I've never done NMM before, so I'm a little hesitant to try that. What's true metalic metal? I'm willing to put in as much time and effort as needed. bigted
True Metalic Metal basics: http://massivevoodoo.blogspot.com/2010/02/tutorial-painting-true-metallic-metal.html Thanks for the link! I think I'd prefer TMM, as it seems easier than NMM and I already went out and bought a few metallic gold paints. bigted
That model looks incredible, you've done a great job! The tutorial was very useful, so many different methods it's hard to choose .
