Amarog
I like them. You might want to consider adding some numbers. Maybe something like 1 . 1 . 1 . 1 (dots centered vertically) around the base? yea i'd for some stupid reason forgot i wanted to add some mini dice onto the bases however the 25mm bases are too small and i didnt arrange them in such a way that i could perch them on a corner, i just wanted to sprinkle snow and got excited >< haha so yea i'll just whack on some numbers on the edges. i like the idea of wrapping around the base with the numbers for easy recognition. much obliged :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/301210-wip-thread/page/2/#findComment-4001907 Share on other sites
Amarog
Another little WIP update. First we have Rune Priest Haakon-Bjorn. The background behind the helmet is that he and his brothers were on a recovery mission. There were certain artifacts left behind after a great war on a planet far beyond the Eastern fringe. These relics were believed to belong to a great veteran of the space wolves chapter. So obviously they couldn't be allowed to fall into the wrong hands. Haakon and a small detachment set out to retrieve these artifacts. They were planet-side and closing in on the location of the ruins when they were intercepted by a large horde of chaos minions lead by a warrior known as Haal 'red blade', a Berserker of the foulest mentality. His strings were pulled by the chaos gods themselves. Haakon fought single handedly through the hordes to reach the relics before Haal. He entered the ruins while his brothers defended the outside of all foes. Inside was Haal was already searching for the relics, unaware he was about to come face to face with the rune priest. For 2 days and 2 nights they fought each other. After the first day both had been disarmed and were down to bare knuckles. Smashing into each others power armour countless times, each one hoping to throw the other off balance to land a killing blow. This is exactly what Haakon-bjorn finally managed to do. near the dawn of the 3rd day, Haakon mustered all the strength he had left and ploughed his fist right into Haal's helmet knocking it clean off his body (complete with head inside) thus vanquishing his enemy. Due to the epic battle and the value of the relics they had recovered, Haakon took up the helmet as his own. He removed the scums head and pummeled it into the ground with his foot, cursing the existence of such foul atrocities. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/lelltomgeorge/Mobile%20Uploads/FB_IMG_1428701788781_zpsa2gcdajs.jpg ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Then there is Engvir Ironfist, Wolfguard sky leader in the 'Varg Riders' great company (my own great company which i hope to post more up for :)). he is renowned for his great skill and precision striking in close combat and for his ability to pummel his opponents to the ground with his powerfist from great heights. He plummets to the earth with such force that all that remains in the wake is dust, blood and fluids. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/lelltomgeorge/Mobile%20Uploads/FB_IMG_1428770169752_zpsorummuf3.jpg So yea, very early stage wips but im happy with how theyre looking so far. Whats more i've found a love for coming up with little back stories for each member of my company :) fun fun. Let me know what you think. Amarog
Very nice work brother Amarog, your choice of posing and backstory really adds to the epic feeling of your wolves, keep up the great work thanks very much. I never used to bother with back stories and couldnt get into coming up with them for my old vanilla dudes. I think the wolves are much more inspiring for me much appreciated.
