McGibs
Hey all, I'm starting up this painting thread to show off the completed models of my Chaos Army, largely inspired by Diablo's 'classic western' daemons, and Doom's cyber daemons. Here's a big whack of stuff that's done so far, and I'll post new stuff as it comes off the painting line! Goatmen Berserkers, making up my trusty ground pounders. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-berserkers01.jpg Less armoured, but equally goaty Blootletters. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-bloodletters01.jpg Big bossman Bloodthrister, who is converted from a cheap toy and some chaos bits. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-bloodthirster03.jpg Little bossman champion, who stands is as chaos lord, sorcerer, or Huron. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-champion.jpg Horny bossman Juggerlord and his Minotaur Spawn bodyguard. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-juggerlord01.jpg Ratmen vermin, who serve as cultists. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-cultists.jpg Khorne Dogs. Arf Arf. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-hounds.jpg Obliterator brutes with their big fragging deamon weapons. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-obliterators02.jpg Terminators of Khorne, which took forever to paint. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-terminators.jpg This little fella, who will stand in as either a Khorney Herald of Tzeetch, or a Culexus Assassin. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-handofkhorne.jpg Some firey Flamers of Khorne. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-flamers.jpg 6 thematic Objective Markers. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-icons02.jpg Plasmapred / rhino. Mislabled executioner. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-plasmapredator.jpg Big daddy crablegs, who runs as my Soul Grinder. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-soulgrinder.jpg Little brother spiderlegs. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-slaughterer01.jpg The Brass Bull maulerfiend. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-bull02.jpg Ol' GattlingFist the contemptor. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-contemptor.jpg And Buzzy the Blood Drone. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-blooddrone.jpg Whew! That v-scroll! Lemmi know what you think, and stay tuned for sporadic updates! Marshal Barbarossa
This is really well done! Those bases are awesome! It truly is a pleasure to see such a well converted and themed army. Thanks for sharing! So what's the story behind those inmates? torsten7048
Well, this is really an individual army. In my opinion you have done a great job and one can quite feel and see the amount of work and imagination necessary to create this. I just can't stop looking at them. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/301225-mcgibs-bloody-beasties-imps-and-knight-on-page-3/#findComment-3905592 Share on other sites
Scribe
AWESOME. The terminator head ogryns are my favorites by far, as a really understated but cool model! Combat_Vet
From start to finish they are all well executed, fantastic miniatures. My favorites have to be the Brutes (pure character there). I'm looking forward to those sporadic updates now :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/301225-mcgibs-bloody-beasties-imps-and-knight-on-page-3/#findComment-3905683 Share on other sites

McGibs
Thanks for the kind words guys! Next on the docket is a brother for the blood slaughterer (yay squadrons!), and something to run as Be'LaKhorne. So what's the story behind those inmates? I'm not much for autobiographical fluff, but I figured theyd tell a nice simple story of a couple lowly imperial prisoners. A serial killer, and his warp-touched associate. Following their jailbreak, prisoner 317 catches the attention of Khorne by defeating a high ranking space marine in single combat, armed with nothing but a shiv and a pointy stick. A worthy skull for the God of Battle. Meanwhile, Prisoner 812 recovers his contraband diary, containing the ravings of a madman who's seen through the veil. With their powers combined, the asphalt splits, pushed up by the bonefields of Khorne's kingdom. The blood of countless sacrifices spills into the material world, flooding the streets ankle deep with gore. Through which stride cloven-hoofed monstrosities, harvesting skulls for the throne. It's grimdark, yo. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/301225-mcgibs-bloody-beasties-imps-and-knight-on-page-3/#findComment-3906824 Share on other sites
old git
There wasn't a single model I looked at thought "...not keen on that". Every model converted, that's some serious work. Nice one. Midnightmare
Such a cool, themed army; well impressed with ideas and execution. I have a question about the mauler? Where is the head from? Love the bases too :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/301225-mcgibs-bloody-beasties-imps-and-knight-on-page-3/#findComment-3907852 Share on other sites
McGibs
The Mauler's head is from the WFB Beastman Ghorgon (?) kit, the giant minotaur. Comes with oodles of chaosy horns and other bits. I used some others for these Helbrute cyclopses that are in the works as my Mayhem Pack. http://mcgibs.com/junk/chaos-helbrutes-wip01.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/301225-mcgibs-bloody-beasties-imps-and-knight-on-page-3/#findComment-3908649 Share on other sites
KrautScientist
As I've said elsewhere, this army is simply amazing -- easily one of the coolest armies I have discovered in 2014! ...in fact, let's just make it official, shall we? ;) Keep up the amazing work! Firepower
I literally just finished using Tamiya Clear Red for blood effects for the first time ever, and my disappointing results are all the more heart breaking after I see this thread. Glorious work, from concept to modelling to painting. The Harrowmaster
If some said to me "you know what I'm gonna make a khornate terminator, and I am going to use a grey knight terminator body and a tzeentch CSM head," my responce probably would have been laughter. But it works! and tied together with that gorgeous paint job! Well done mate great to see someone thinking outside the box. EDIT :- Also forgot to mention the obliterators are one of my favourite conversion i have seen!
