KBA
I'm running an Iwata Eclipse HP-CS .35mm needle/nozzle. I've read on Dakka Dakka that for thicker that for GW paints, you want to shoot with a higher PSI -- perhaps that's true for a thicker .5mm nozzle?? I'm just some idiot that bought an airbrush and tried learning as he went, so any condescension is probably warranted though honestly I didn't detect any in your post :). Thank you for all the advice, millicant. I'll be using all your tips going forward! Millicant
Im using the same airbrush! Great piece of gear. Generally that advice is true, the psi will be a little higher. That being said, I would advise against ever exceeding 25-30 psi. When the paint goes on, it should look wet. With the "stippling" look you got, that indicates to me that the paint is drying before it hits the model. As always with paint, multiple thin layers are better than one thick one. Keep at it, man. Airbrushing kicked my butt for a while at first. Now I can't imagine not using it. Rumour Control
I completely agree with millicant. The psi is too high and the paint not thin enough. I had a similar thing happen to me when i first used my airbrush. Even the Vallejo air paints I still thin with either tamiya or vallejo thinner. Id seriously invest in one of those. To remove the paint id suggest fairy power spray. Im not sure where you are from in the world but im sure there are similar products. Hope this advice helps. KBA
Well, kind of in a bind fluff-wise with House Col'khak. Finally got book 4 Conquest, and there's more than a couple references to the House, enough that I think it's inevitable that Col'khak will get official colors in coming books. Was surprised it wasn't fleshed out in Conquest to be honest. The established fluff pretty well outlines they're joined at the hip with the Mechanicum -- their scheme will be anything but colorful going off this, and it's said they mostly utilize Knight Armors I could care less about. But this was the risk I took when I decided to overturn a Forge World stone. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but I'm not down to write/work around established fluff when I could just create my own House. This has definitely scared the hell out of me to the point of rethinking my Titan Legion choice too, which will affect my RG fluff as well. Scrapping everything and starting over.
