Therion Cohort?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering can anyone tell me what the scheme is for the cohort I can't find my copy of A Raven's Flight. I've searched elsewhere and it mentions black and also red but I'm not sure where the red is prominent. I was originally going to do them with black carapace, grey faitgures, brown boots and gold emblems and trim on the carapace.

Going by their description in Angel Exterminatus, they are clad in khaki and iron. My interpretation would be to use the SA models - paint the hard armor the same burnished metal as IW power armor and paint the soft fatigues khaki. Furthermore, they helmets are described as mimicking the sigil of the IW. I think the SA models would do nicely in this regard.

They are supposed to be raised from Olympia and fanatical to the core.

Think you've got mixed up here, I'm on about the Therion Cohort, the Imperial Army that accompanies the Raven Guard in the likes of A Raven's Flight, Deliverance Lost and The Divine Word.

I've been going through everything I have on the Therion Cohort. I found my copy of A Raven's Flight and I had the Divine Word and Deliverance Lost on my kindle. In A Raven's Flight's it mentions they had black masks and the commanding officers have red sashes as a sign of higher nobility.

In Deliverance lost it mentions they stand out as red and gold whilst standing at attention during the original compliance of Istvaan, but then later on during the attack on the Perfect Fortress, the commanders Bodyguard is described as wearing "golden carapace armour and white fatigues stained and muddied by the advance from the landing zone."

That last one is the most detail I've read on the uniform of a common trooper, so I think I may be going with that. Golden armour with silver detail along with white fatigues and red shoulder pads, what do you think?

Do you think I should do the helmet visors in black, to break up the gold a bit more? This is the sentence from A Raven's Flight "Valerius watched the columns of black-masked soldiers marching onto the orbital shuttles".

If you see the guy on the right of this picture I was thinking of doing the visor black and the eye rims gold perhaps?
