Contemptor Loadout Dilemma - I can't believe it has happened

Oh yes, contemptors are open to 40k as well, check out Imperial armor vol 2, second edition for the most up to date 40k rendition of their rules. It's almost the same, but has some minor alterations (slightly worse stats, some weapon restrictions, no volkites of any kind, can take cyclone missile launchers)

Hmm.  I picked up three of them to build for my Blood Angels.  Relieved it was not a wasted expense.

*ahem*

I kinda like this loadout.

However, I don't have the crusade books and didn't know Volkite weapons had been added to the list. In fact, I was gonna make a vokite arm for this guy during the Walker competition even though I believed it was not a legal option, but I didn't think I could pull it off before the deadline. I might have have to change him up now.

Well if you're blood angels, you don't use the rules in imperial armor volume 2, second edition.. but FW's apocalypse book i think it was. The blood angels have their own contemptor version that have slightly different lodout options.

Contemptors are glorious models - one of my favourites for sure. It's why I have my little family of Contempt!

Two Mortis Contemptors (with Kheres and Cyclones)

Two with dual combat weapons (for dicing!)

One with combat weapon and Heavy Conversion Beamer

One with combat weapon and Heavy Bolter

A few are magnetised, for obvious reasons. I'm sure I've got a spare combat weapons somewhere too. All are to be repainted in due course, naturally.

Slip, I'm disappointed I don't see at least one contemptor for the XII and Murdery McKillatron 3000 on your list of available dreads...

I just dont have 60 True Grit, 3 Spartans and 3 more contemptors to devote to that project yet tongue.png

Not to mention my first Spartan took the better part of 2-3 hours to put together... @_@

Oh my.  I need to get on that like now.

So, the older Apocalypse version specific to BA is the legal version for us?  Really?

Well, more like the other versions have never been open to BA (or SW) players. Instead the option you had was the specific BA Contemptor. Just saying this so you don't get a book where there's no rules for you.

No worries.  I think I already have the apocalypse book so that's awesome.  I wish I could get a look at the Contemptor entry in IAV2 second edition though.  If it says "heavy support/elite/etc choice for Space Marines, Blood Angels, Etc, Etc" then technically that version takes precedence over the IA:A book. :(  Either way I'm still gonna field them I just want to make sure I'm not being an accidental douche about it.
