Castellan Blackmane
Can your main force be battle forged but have unbound allies? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/301478-unbound-allies/ Share on other sites
Deschenus Maximus
Nope. An unbound army can have Formations, but not any other type of Detachment. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/301478-unbound-allies/#findComment-3909655 Share on other sites
Kristoff
Nope. An unbound army can have Formations, but not any other type of Detachment. They can, but it doesn't do any good as the Command Benefits are dropped at that point. Plus there is always the Primary Detachment to have. tsijben
No. Your entire army is either Battle-forged or Unbound. Battle-forged: Each unit belongs to a Detachment or Formation. Unbound: Your units are 'on their own' or in a Formation. The moment you have even a single unit not in a Detachment, the entire army is Unbound and all Detachments are invalid. Sure, from a story-PoV you could say that some units are in a Detachment, but all the special rules, etc, stop working.
