What does Space Wolves think happen after death?

In Prospero Burns something like that is mentioned. Fenrisians believe in their sort of heaven. They call it Upland. However, after Fyth (can't recall the spelling) has become an Astartes, Kasper asked that since he has been to space, why is he still using old terms like Upland. Fyth replied that he believes that there is an Upland, beyond. He also knows that there is hell. He had seen in (he is referring to the Warp I presume).

I would believe that the Warp is something akin to hell for them, seeing that that is where Daemonspawn lurks and plenty of Maleficarum.

Upland, on the other hand, little has been mentioned, but I think that many Fenrisians keep that believe after becoming Astartes.

Another guess would be that they believr in something akin to Valhalla, where worthy warrior go after death to rejoin with their battle brothers, Viking-style.

They come to the Side of the Emperor . If they killed enough they get a pad on the head and a "Who is a good boy?".

When they even made something epic they get a Treat ,  a " You are a good boy" and maybe ... maybe even a cuddle session.

Sorry had to do it.

Nothing in Prospero Burns at least, but I do not recall it being mentioned anywhere. But, do we have a concept about what Heaven is like? It is a nebulous concept.

I imagine different tribes have different concept. Imagine there is indeed a good number of SW seeing Upland as we see Vahalla.

I do remember reading something along these lines somewhere, not sure where though. They join dead battle brothers and wait for the time Russ returns and they join the fight at the wolf time (end of time).

I will see if I can find a source.

The cult of Russ is old, dating to the time of the First Founding and pre-dating the establishment of the Adeptus Terra. To outsiders its rituals seem primitive and almost heretical. They stress the power of Russ almost as much as the divinity of the Emperor. At the core of the faith are many prophesies concerning the Space Wolves and the natives of Fenris. Central to its tenants is the belief that the forces of Evil will gather and return in the end to destroy mankind under the leadership of a resurrected Horus. It is the duty of the Space Wolves to prepare for this last day, to be ready for the final battle. The Cult of Russ teaches that the spirit of every Space Wolf who dies bravely in battle joins the Emperor and strengthens him to fight this final battle. This is a grim, savage religion with the power to stir warriors to feats of great heroism.

White Dwarf 156 and 246.

Its probably why when a wolf leaves never to return or when they say goodbye to a dying brother, they part by sayng "Until next winter"?

Next winter, being the Wolf-time when Russ will return to lead the Wolves against the great evil

I love that phrase so much. It has so much meaning and so much flavour combined into three simple words. My mind races with ideas every time I hear it. "Until next winter." When I heard Russ say it at the end of Prospero Burns audiobook, I got goose bumps :D
