More Imperial Fists?!

Awesome, awesome sculpt. It's got to be Sigismund, there's no way Forgeworld would put that much detail into a generic command squad set.

I'm super curious as to who sculpted it, I particularly like the filigree effect on the thigh plates.

It says it's a command set in the article. And it's very very underwhelming if its Sigismund. Not that its a bad model, because it's awesome, but it's not Sigismund.

Oh, I know it stated it was a command set. But like others have mentioned, it bears a heavy resemblance to the Sigismund artwork.

Maybe the sculpt could use a little more detail on his gorget, but you have to admit the miniature and artwork do look strikingly similar.

In anycase, whether or not he's Sigismund, I think the sculpt is totally badass and am looking forward to seeing it released!

That's Sigismund.

The shoulder pads, tabard, helmet, and chest plate all match what can be seen on the cover of Templar, nearly identically.

Now, is FW openly lying about there being an IF Command squad, or could this be a dual-purpose kit like Rohr mentioned?

EDIT: It occurred to me that the guy depicted on the cover of Templar might not be Sigismund, in which case, FW could've just used that as inspiration for this and the Sigismund we do get is vastly different looking.

Maybe the guy that does the bulletin just doesn't know what he's talking about :P

The more I look the more Sigismund-y he is, I just don't get why they wouldn't shout about it more, they must know he's a popular character.

I was underwhelmed at first if it is Sigismund but he is growing on me.

Chained weapon. Check
Filigree on the armor. Check
Very similiar helmet. Check
Cross on chain. Check
Tabard. Check
Even little triangle frills on the side of the tabard. Check
Emperor's Champion pose. Check

I find it hard to believe this is not Sigismund. I mean, sure a lot of it is just "Templar bling" and not really indicative of it being specifically Sigismund, but at least four of those things there are pretty much directly taken from the cover of Templar, as mentioned by several now.

Wasn't Sigismund the only one among the IF, even the Templar brethren, to use a tabard at this time? I'm positive he was the only one in the Fists'Legion to put a chain on his weapon.

EDIT: pauldrons look similiar too

The Templars who escorted Dorn onto the Eisenstein had tabards didn't they?

If so, I stand corrected on that point.

Even so, the rest of the list makes sense...

I'm really torn now, and just wanna know if it is him! I guess I've answered my own question on why they wouldn't say it was him...

Tbh lads i dont think it is siggy, his "weapon" isnt even chained to his wrist i say weapon coz for all we can see from the pic it could be a thunder hammer/power axe/ maul. The chain to me looks like ornamentation like the korhn zerker axe. Im also sure (hoping more then anything) when they finally release siggy he'll have a MUCH more dynamic pose. But the likeness to the cover of templar is striking. It is a beautiful mini.
I think they are doing the last 3 legions in batches. The Fists are done, other than the Primarch, so it's not a matter of more attention for them. If this kit is about to go into production, then that means there sculptors are already on other projects.

I love the Imperial Fists, but there's other legions like the Raven Guard, Alpha Legion and Iron Warriors that really require some love.

my response to this thread was that "You guys are getting all this awesome and your crying over back packs and legs?!?"
