tetsuokills
It's a nice idea but I don't imagine it performing that well. Your army is too elite and your death star too expensive to be taken seriously as a threat. You have four starting units on the board. Your opponent can focus on your two Breacher Squads and the Sicaran Venator turn one. Neither of which is particularly tough, and neither of which can withstand the shooting of your opponents 2000pt army. The Breacher squads may last into the second turn if you're lucky. 10 man Breacher squads with T5 and 5+ FNP just aren't enough when you have so few models on the board. It's not like your opponent is being spoiled for choice with what to shoot at. Once the Sicaran Venator has been destroyed you only have the Spartan to fall back on for anti-tank duty. Your death star can be kited all game long once boots are on the ground so don't expect them to pick up the slack in that department. You have no choice but to accept that Primaris-Lightning Strike Fighters will ruin your day. They will crack open your Spartan like a hobo with a tin of beans and then you're left with just your beat stick death star. Your death star comes in at 955pts and once disembarked or the Spartan is immobilised/destroyed you're going to get kited, hard. Why bother man fighting that beast mode unit when you can just walk away from it? It is only T5 against shooting attacks, if you are charged, or in the second round of combat. Charging out of Spartan with that death star into close combat brings them down to T4. The unit can and will get shot to pieces at any given opportunity, and easily, too. T5 with a 3++ just doesn't cut the mustard against volume of fire. Fury of the Legion 20 man tacticals, Thudd Gunns, Fire Raptors, Quad Heavy Bolters, you name it, the weight of shots will bury your unit under bullets quite easily. Five of the seven models in your death star are just normal Legion Terminators. You will struggle in games where objectives are being played. Your opponent can fan out across the board, over multiple objectives and whittle your super elite force down over a few turns with shooting. AfroCampbell
haha ok too true, all points you have said are valid, it was just a bit of a laugh fun over the top list. Does anyone out there have any lists using the Rite of War?
