Do Inquisition Thunderhawks exist?

Recommended Posts

Question for the brotherhood, exactly as the title says.

I'm in the process of building a long term Inquisition project and love the idea of them enacting their wrath from a Thunderhawk.

Do the Inquisition have Thinderhawks at all anywhere in the fluff? I'm not talking just a requisitioned one or a GK one either, but an actual Inquisition maintained and operated one.

If not what would be the closest they would have? I'm looking for some kind of large flyer that could carry a couple of Inquisitors and their reapective warbands and be emblazoned with the =I= everywhere.

Logic says if they have their own Rhinos/Raiders, it makes sense to have the transports designed to carry them.

That said, there are probably thousands of different landing craft designs throughout the Imperium, any of which the Inquisitor in question could have got his hands on, so you're pretty much free to build whatever you want...

I've said it before, I'll say it again:

"You be the one to tell them they can't."

The Inquisition can basically have anything they physically can use. That means that strictly marine gear might be out unless they have marines around (*cough* Red Hunters *cough* Deathwatch *cough*) I have got to deal with that cold.

Yeah I accept all the reasons for them just saying:

"I need your Power Armour, Your boots and you Thunderhawk."

I just figure that they would tend to be decked out as the chapter or whoever they took them from.

What I want is a fully Inquisitorialised TH, packed with their insignia to cause dampened pants in the ranks of the heretics. I'm not sure whether they would go the effort of converting/installing that kind of stuff on "requisitioned" material.

"The Inquisition" does not maintain a stock of anything, except possibly carapace armour and valkyries at major facilities such as the Sector Headquarters buildings and Terra.

An individual Inquisitor, on the other hand, once they have built up enough experience, renown and resources, and who can travel to a Forge World that retains the ability to make Thunderhawks (they're few and far between, Thunderhawks are relic artifacts for the most part) could get themselves one all done up in their own livery... with heated leather seats, as Pathatrick says.

Just be sure to put the latest game consoles for passengers to um... train... yeah... on those long flights....

I mean, a 1st person shooter with the same map as the lair you're about to invade..or..something... ;)

a bit late, but page 205 in IA2 (First edition at least) has a draw pic of a thunderhawk in the bottom of the page with a note stating it's a drawing of "Inquisitorial Armoured Shuttle Thunderhawk variant" used for Inquisitor Lords. So yes. the Inquisition has access to Thunderhawks ;)
