SonOfThunder
In the end it's like buying Runic Armor for the hammer guy. Doesn't seem like a bad option, but again, when under a budget, it's the kind of thing you'd leave out. For bigger point games, I can see it as a good investment if you have the spare elite slots and you planned to take a TH in one of your TWC already. What would be better though, getting that 2+/6++, or buying a 3++ for cheaper? DanPesci
Oh aye totally, thing is a lot of the time its gonna come down to situation on which one is better. However id say its still not a bad way of filling an elite choice if you dont just want to have a gibbering servitor sat around (and one which can synergise well with a TWC Cof list) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/301884-cof-tax-servitors-vs-lone-wolves/page/2/#findComment-3919327 Share on other sites
SonOfThunder
When an IP is taken servitors don't occupy slots, so that's that Statwise the IP has one less attack and one less WS (in CoF detachment). Also something to bear in mind, even when you do have the points for them. SonOfThunder
Just a thanks to people who contributed to this thread and helped me get creative with the servitors, I've made my peace with them. I'll use drummers from the fantasy chaos marauder set, I'll put some guitar string joining the drum to the drumstick, to justify its servo-arm profile. They'll be my Thunderers (I play a DIY called Sons of Thunder). They are recruits that still haven't reached the blood claw status and are half-way through the organ implantation. They are a little slow in the head because they are trying to adjust to the whole become a space marine process and all that. And all the ale they consume before the battle. Difficult to justify how these guys can help fix vehicles, but since I don't plan to include any vehicles in this list, that won't be a problem ...otherwise you can say the ritual hit with a drumstick is all that vehicle needed to get up and running... More than strategically capture objectives, the thunderers earn a moral edge for the army by having these idiotic fellows drumming loudly in important parts of the battlefield, pissing on the opponent's face while doing so.
