SW Terminators dont have frag and krak grenades?

Yea as Immersturm said Terminators don't generally have grenades, Codex Space Marines, Dark Angels, Space Wolves, Blood Angels, Chaos Space Marines, no grenades on Terminators. Only the Grey Knights have grenades for their Terminators.

However, if you give a SW the relic terminator armor it makes no mention of giving up your grenades (or any other wargear for that mater). I plan on modeling a rune priest in terminator armor with a plasma pistol eventually.

Even if the Rune Priest still has frag grenades due to wearing the Armour of Asvald Stormwrack instead of TDA only he and not the squad he is with will benefit from the grenades. Yup, it is that silly.

That is a great catch. I didn't like Void Claws as much as everyone else here due to the lack of grenades and no storming out of a land raider, but now that attached HQ could make them much more viable in some lists.

But again that only affects the guy with the grenades, not the rest of the squad, so it wouldn't help the Void Claws.

Got excited, reread the rules, No longer excited.

whats the big deal about grenades anyway?

If you are about to be charged by TDA with pairs of wolf claws, get into cover. This forces them to charge into difficult terrain, which makes them fight at initiative 1. If the TDA had assault (aka frag) grenades, they could ignore that rule like power armor units.

but its irrelevant if you are using unwieldy weapons, isnt it?

I generally find that taking power weapons on my TDA is more fun than power fists or thunderhammers. Especially power mauls, IMO they're underrated. Sure it's AP4, but they're free for terminators, and it's S+2. 3 S6 hits (each) in melee is pretty good for a group of termies whose big job is to shoot crap. It depends on when I want those termies to come in, for my alfa strike termies I'll be using the free SS and stormbolter/combi-melta (depending on points). If I have the points I'll take wolf claws instead of power weapons, since re-rolling wounds is very helpful when you don't make too many hits (I have a tendency to whiff hard).
