Raktra
How would you arm it? Other than Paragon of Metal, that is. Just fancy one as an all-round unit in a small Iron Hands list (that's still WiP, so I can't give massive details). I'm not looking for the bestest option evar, just a reliable non-paperweight robot. Also I like robots.Robots. MindOfMetal
2 Flamers, enhanced targetting array and a darkfire cannon. It allows you to snipe at range or shoot vehicles with the darkfire cannon and deal with threats up close with the flamers. I've used that with paragon and had some success with it. AekoldHelbrass
Multi-melta, flamers, power blades, run forward. Either perfect fire magnet because enemy will poo bricks, or onstrument to maim squads two or three times his points. OwlandMoonGuy
I wonder how many more configurations you'll get. I've been running one with Power Blades & Multi-melta. I find that Paragon isn't really necessary depending on the combat role. I use mine as more of a back field/deployment zone protector. If there's an enemy within 12" of him then that's the one I want him to go smash anyway. I also like keeping him close to the Magos who can bolster him with the Cyberthurgery. Personally, I think the Darkfire is too pricy for what it does. I migh think differently if I was running multiple squads of 3x models, i.e. I was more dependent on giving them something to do while they crossed the table. Likewise for the flamers. I find flamers most effective when you have a delivery mechanism that puts them up close. As an aside, one of these guys with dual famers in Zone Mortalis games would be devastating. In my newest lists I'm working on adding a second model as a seperate unit. That one will get the Mauler w/the twin bolters to diversify the damage potential. I don't need two meltas as the one can crack open a trasport allowing the other mow down the occupants and then close in for the assault. So think more about the combat role and that might better answer your question. Brofist
My experience with Castellax: if you want them to stand back and shoot, then a darkfire and targeting system are all you need. If you want them to get into melee, then you need power blades. A mauler, darkfire, and targeting system are strong choices ontop of the blades. From my experience the weakest options are the MM and flamers. That doesn't mean they are poor options, I just feel the others are better at making my death robots do what I need them to do.
