Shaezus
One for the mods: Is there any chance of getting a pinned trading thread on the BA forum? Obviously there may be reliability issues but perhaps a minimum time as a forum member would alleviate these? Otherwise I just see it as another way for us to help each other out and make it easier to build a BA army. Edit: Even if the thread is just an advertising point where contact can be made and deals set up on places like ebay. That way there would be no need for a minimum membership time etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302043-buying-selling/ Share on other sites
Blindhamster
Keep in mind that forum rules specifically don't allow trading threads... It would be potentially a nice idea though Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302043-buying-selling/#findComment-3920941 Share on other sites
Shaezus
I'm thinking more of an intermediary thread for arranging trade on a legal site where both buyer and seller are protected. That way nobody can lose anything, and the BA hobby will be more thriving. Spinsanity
As already pointed out, Selling & Trading threads are forbidden : Forum rules, post #2 : [...] Some restrictions: No trolling No flaming No chat or "leet" speak No obscenity/pornography No derogatory terms (particularly those dealing with ethnicity or sexual orientation) No trading or selling posts There are plenty of other forums where you can find S&T treads, but BnC's stand has always been to steer those away. Such a request would be more suited to the Suggestions subforum. Until this is allowed, the BA forum won't have such a tread... Xenith
So...BA players can trade BA players for BA? I'd just go to a dedicated forum and keep the B&C Free from the clutter and angst that it causes. Shaezus
Not quite sure what you mean by 'clutter and angst'. The premise is that BA players can offer a better deal to BA players than they would find elsewhere. The actual trade could be set up, as I already suggested, on a recognised site so that both buyer and seller are protected, hence no angst. It would take up one single line on the page so it wouldn't be cluttering. If you didn't use it, you wouldn't notice it was there. Can see that it isn't going to happen but in the meantime there's nothing to stop people making arrangements in PM is there? Xenith
Not quite sure what you mean by 'clutter and angst'. The premise is that BA players can offer a better deal to BA players than they would find elsewhere. I personally would doubt that. I'm not going to get more BA for my buck from a fellow BA player who wants them. I want to trade with people who don't want BA (Who would more than likely not hang out in this forum). Angst. Well. Have you seen trade threads? We are a good frater. Business always have the power to turn friends to enemies. Having a 'time/post limit' is just one more thing for the mods to mod. Like you said, if people want to trade, they will do it via pm. Perhaps people wishing to trade should add a suitable line in their sig? Shaezus
I see your point, Xenith, but as one who has quite a few spare BA units lying around, from land raiders and furiosos to assault marines and librarians, I would actually rather see these go to a frater here than to elsewhere. That's a good idea about putting something in the sig. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302043-buying-selling/#findComment-3921774 Share on other sites
Bryan Blaire
Guys, I'm not a Mod in this area, so I'm not taking this step as anything other than a fellow Frater, but I do want to remind everyone of this part of the rules as well: PRIVATE MESSAGING and E-MAIL: You can send Private Messages (PMs) and e-mails to other members of the Bolter & Chainsword. While the board has little control over the content of these messages, you are still expected to abide by the forum rules with regard to Content and how you treat your fellow members. Using the PM feature in ways that violate board rules (including flaming, advertising, etc.) is subject to appropriate punishment.I'm not saying anyone is going to get in trouble, it really is as friendly a reminder as possible because I don't want something negative to happen to anyone.
