Vomikron Noxis
Hey all. How do fortifications interact with CTA ally restrictions? Let's say I have a daemon CAD that includes a bastion. I then take an allied detachment of tyranids. Can the nids deploy within 12" of the fortification? Can they ever embark? I'm sure I'm missing something here... Help would be most appreciated! Quixus
No. Battlefield terrain pieces are still models. CTA allies cannot be within 1" of their "allies", nor can they deploy with 12" of their "allies". Kristoff
It depends. "A claimed building is a unit in the controlling player’s army and will remain so, even if it later becomes unoccupied, until the building is either destroyed or claimed by an enemy." But no such rule for non-buildings, unless the Fortification specifies. Vomikron Noxis
Problem solved now that I've done a little research... The answer to my own question is "yes they can". Fortifications are specified as having no faction (regardless of the detachment), so there are no ally concerns as the level of alliance is determined by faction.
