FW Bulletin 44 - new tank

Oh wow is that the Stormhammer already? Lookin' good, it's nice to see it's part plastic so the cost won't be so high

edit: on further inspection I'm kind of sad they didn't go with the style of cannon from the Conquest mock-upIt kind of looked more menacing with a thicker cannon and no muzzle brake

I thought my Fellblade variants were expensive, this surely will be more so? It looks huge!

Also not sure if I'm upset it doesn't have the mini-turrets on each corner ala Epic :D

Is the Stormhammer the infantry support one? That the SA use as a mobile bunker point? I don't have Conquest at work so can't check. It certainly looks more like a huge bunker riddled with firepoints than a tank.

I like the looks of it. I won't be getting one any time soon, but it's one of those many things I'd like to build once I have time and money to spare.

I think it's based on the plastic Baneblade chassis, so it will probably cost a bit less than the Fellblade and variants. I'm guessing around £130.

It's not so much a Bunker - that's the Stormlord, as that has a Transport Capacity, but yes, it's a literal rolling fortress. Unlike the Baneblade, which is an "all comers", the Stormhammer is a medium range dedicated infantry killer (gaining shred and pinning in exchange for a smaller blast, and its two hull guns are a pair of battle cannons rather than short range demolisher). It is also tougher - with +1 HP

The reason it looks slightly larger than other Baneblade-chassis tanks is becuase the turret housing actually extends onto the track sections of the tank, whereas all previous variants have had their main assembly entirely located on the central hull.

The picture from the book conquest is different to the actual model, the upper turret is clearly different and has the coaxial multi laser it comes with. It does a lot of pie plates of damage and in it's description of conquest it states the Stormhammer tends to be the lead vehicle of a Solar Auxilia attack. I was going to convert one for my solar auxilia but then I figured what it could achieve I could do with Leman Russ tanks and perhaps a Shadowsword for some knight/titan killing would be a better option.

Damn that thing is ugly (in the picture from Conquest) - Not a fan of that at all

Ugly is as ugly does. I don't need my MBT's to be sleek and sexy, I need them to kill, break, and flatten my enemies and their domains.

Considering that this ride literally looks like a Land Battleship, and has more cannons on it than your average Titan.... I'll take three.

Where are the Masts. It will need Captain Morgan on the turrent.

It would be wasteful.

Why? Because you will never find booty at your local gaming store.

Arghhh but if I'm there the misses will pop on in with boots enough for all to gaze upon.

But it's my boots and I'll skin you land lovers if you go near it

Yer lady?

No lad, I was just a eyeballin' your whiskey!

Ahem

So can this tank get a potential of 7 lascannons? O_O

Not that I'm complaining, as I love the stuff, but why would you put a rum on a tank?

OT: Can't wait to see this baby in full and painted. A previously planned SA Leviathan FOC list may get a few tweaks...
