How many in the Deathwing?

On the Lexicanum page it states that there are a total of 20 squads in the Deathwing including Deathwing Knights and Command Squads. I was wondering if those were meant to be squads of 5 or 10 and what ratio would the Deathwing Knights and Command Squads be to the normal Deathwing Squads?

I was thinking that it would be 15 squads of 5 Deathwing Terminators, 3 squads of 5 Knights and 2 Command Squads or would 12 squads of Deathwing, 5 squads of knights and 3 command squads be closer to the mark?

Thanks in advance

Brother, it is great to see that you are of sharp mind and like to know the exact numbers. But seeking knowledge can be dangerous to your body and soul, please be content knowing that Dark Angels are a chapter fiercely loyal to the Emperor and that we use all our resources to exact his will across the galaxy.

As to indulge your heightened sense of curiosity I only say that number of our Deathwing brethren is continuously fluctuating as we constantly must fight, many of our brothers die in battle and we must replenish their ranks on regular basis.

Basically...... nobody knows. Its a secret, one of many

How many Deathwing are there? I believe the offical answer is...

"Enough."

No Imperial Auditors seem to want to make the trip out to The Rock to get an exact count after the last 103 auditors were lost en route in various "accidents".

I'm thinking more along 200, similar to the Ravenwing..  (no the RW does not have a hard number but crews for just the 10 brothers is 30 marines. Then there is the fleet air support wings of Nephilim...  Wonder where that thread went..)

According to the Ravenwing novella there are about 25 Black Knights in the company if this is of any help..

We had a thread where someone did the math and came up with like 225-240 members of the RW. That was assuming a bit of cross training between Land speeder, LSV and Dark Shroud crews

It's a believable number...

And i believe that the number of the DW is above 100 too... I would guess about 150...

What i would like to see on the codex was the same thing for CoVets too, not just members of the company squads rearranged for special missions but a real separated group of individuale that could act like a CoVet Squad, Comm Squad, Sgts or specialists for other squads... About 20 of them each battle and reserve company...

Not forgetting there are others being sent to form as part of usual strikeforce or on secret missions.

So therefore there is no confirmed figures and this fits fluff.

We have roughly 7 confirmed chapters of Dark Angels origin.

In codex terms, that's 700 terminator armors lol.. But we know we have more...

Yes... More than 1000 TDA spread across the Unforgiven legion... ;)

It was once told that the entire 14th Assault CHAPTER (numbers witheld) equipped entirely with TDA did not arrive in time for the drop on Calaban and was subsequently split up among the 2nd founding chapters...

So yeah...  More than 1000 suits

I wonder what the reason was for dropping the traditional core 100 strength for DW squad members. Maybe the inclusion of Knights threw a spanner in the works that GW didn't want to think about too much.

Who knows.

Cheers
