Jolemai
Are there any Flyers an Imperial Knight list can take outside of the Adeptus Astartes Stormwing dataslate and the Imperial Navy's Marauders? jeffersonian000
The Tyranids Flyer formations, oddly enough, make awesome support for Knights. I particularly love the Spore formation, with the anti-Flyer spores. Been thinking about modeling them as old style anti-balloons. Battybattybats
If you use Mechanicum 30k allies you can take a 30k Lightning. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302426-imperial-knights-and-flyer-assistance/#findComment-3929424 Share on other sites
heron
If you want to go with just flyers, I would suggest taking the Skyboss Wingnutz Air Armada formation from Sanctus Reach: Hour of the Wolf. 3 Dakka Jets 1 Blasta Bommer 1 Burna Bommer All of the flyers heal their hull points and regain their single-use bombs and missiles when they return from ongoing reserve. I have no idea how it would work, but it sure sounds fun to me! Sure you are come the apocalypse allies, but since you start the Ork flyers off the board it doesn't matter.... I am currently converting a Morkanaught to give this a try (I guess it will be a Morka-Knight) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302426-imperial-knights-and-flyer-assistance/#findComment-3929838 Share on other sites
Brother Paen
You lookin for ground attack or anti-air? If you want anti-air, go with a Vengeance weapons battery of two with the quad las-cannon upgrade. I don't have a solution for ground attack ...sorry. Lucien Eilam
They are an Army, they have a Codex,....explain please. Knights don't have units capable of filling the mandatory slots on any Detachment that has a Fortification slot. Knight armies don't lose anything by going Unbound though, so you might as well do that if you want a Fortification. You only need allies if you want to be Battle-forged for some reason. BassWave
Horus Heresy Conquest has a ruleset that is waaay more complete than the knight "codex". It even has different types of pilots to upgrade the knight with that also determine its FOC slot. One gives skyfire, and when combined with either the styrix or castigator, you get a very efficient AA platform.
