BlodVargarna
Hey groundpounders! Are the old plastic IG from RT days desireable? Do you guys like them for their retro feel or do you think they are too old fashioned and "big headed"? bigted
I don't like them personally, they just look bad imo. Some of the guys who've been playing for a long time might be more into them (I started in 5th). Kierdale
Personally I love them. I had the big box of thirty back as a kid, along with some of the metal ones (inc. an officer on a jet bike) and wish I still had them. WarriorFish
They're a classic in the truest of senses, but I wouldn't use them alongside the modern models as the difference would be a bit too much for me. If you had enough to field an army with them you'd be laughing in many ways! So it depends what you mean by desirable. CoffeeGrunt
I personally like very few of the old model designs, I suppose it's a blend of taste and lack of nostalgia. CyderPirate
Not that keen on the RT stuff. I don't think its bad, I just don't think its as good as the other stuff they've done. I DO really like the 2nd ed metal range, but that might be more to do with when I started in the hobby, though. JaM_TW
Same here: I have aquired a bunch of metal catachans lately, cant see me mixing them with the plastics. I know that there are some collectors out there, I've sold a bunch of 4th/5th edition WHFB orcs some time ago and they sold quite well. It's just that there is something special to those old models, sometimes it's just that nowadays you can(or, could) buy them a lot more easily then when they were in fashion. Disposable income and all that... :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302435-rogue-trader-plastic-ig/#findComment-3929408 Share on other sites
Raulmichile
I own a couple of old 1st. Ed models and although they are a bit smaller than current range models they do intermix nicely. Quality is now as high as today but they transport me to the distant past.... FashaTheDog
I have both metal and plastic Rogue Trader Guardsmen mixed in with current plastics, Forgeworld, old metals, and even a few of Genestealer Hybrids/Magi. As long as your paint scheme is consistent it really does not make too big a difference as long as you already have a mixed regiment feel going (like I do). Besides, the regimental beastman distracts you from any other visual issues. http://s17.postimg.org/rtzow3han/Beastman.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302435-rogue-trader-plastic-ig/#findComment-3930801 Share on other sites
