Deredeo Pattern dreadnought-FW release 23-1-15

Looking at the rules, the anvilus autocannons are worse than the cheaper accelerator autocanons on the sicaran. The stat line is almost the same as the thudd gun with sunder shells, but you take 3 of those for the cost of a single dodo. It's only real perks over a mortis are a better missile launcher and re-rolling against armor pen. It'll be good against fliers, for sure, but a mortis does it nearly as well for less. I'm unsure what it really does over a contemptor with dual assault cannons and a missile launcher.

Also I'm really laughing at how the rules aren't for the HH, yet its being sold in the HH section :)

e: Looks like the pieces are modular so chances are we'll get some other cool weapon options for the arms and turret. Imagine this guy with quad lascanon arms. That would murderize fliers.

Given the paint job (are Ultramarines associated with XIII in 40k?), I'm guessing it'll be in Tempest (if that's the Calth's book). I was thinking of getting a Mortis but if it is available I'll definitely get one of these instead.

Rules have been updated slightly, already.

SW, BA and DA, can now take it, and its available for HH as well.

EDIT: Not sure if I derped, or the rules were changed again, but I'll assume it was the latter. SW cannot take it outside of HH, it'd seem. Of little relevance here though

The rules for the rocket launcher are quite fun, just wish the autocannons fired more than 4... As previously said the cannons are pretty much the same as Thudd Gun Shatter Shells. Still looks like a BAMF though, I'm going to order mine next week and I'll see what might come out next Friday too...

I find kinda amusing that one "weapon destroyed" result leaves him completely armless... other than that, he looks ace!

Yeah, they need to consider this. Having both be the same weapon is not really a good thing

The fact that it can have skyfire is what makes it worth sonsidering over a rapier battery or sicaran. It will do better in an AA role by a whole HP per turn. Though if you're in a meta that has almost no flyers there's better choices.

Really, I've been looking at the Downloads page, and the three links to the Experimental rules on he product pages and they don't look any different. 40,000 only, limited to a Codex: Space Marines detachment.

Anybody have a link to this  new rule sheet, as I can't see it anywhere

The link is the same,

The link is the same, make a forced refresh of the page (ctrl+F5?), or try opening in a different browser

Having just preordered mine, the chap on the phone confirmed there will be at least 2 more weapon options and another option in place of the missile launcher and rules will be in the next book.

One of the options for the carapace mount should me a massive spring-loaded boxing glove. I'm serious. It could be awesome.

Pretty happy that my current lists have a heavy support slot or two open!

Going to be adding this to the order; still need to see Polix before it checks out though!

Pretty surprised that this one can take Armored Ceramite. Its the only dread to do so. Also, its main gun having Sunder is pretty great and WILL make flyers cry.

I might just but it with autocannon arms if the next two options dont include Volkite anywhere.

I'm going to wait until the other arms come (volkite which is all but gauranteed, possible plasma cannonade possible alternative to the missile launcher) I think this is a great platform for weapon options that wouldn't be feasible on a contemptor frame (powersource, weight contraints etc).

You know, I thought the Deredeo was ugly at first... Now I find it oddly appealing.

Nice to see it painted in UM colors as well, considering that's my next army. I wonder if we'll get a variant mounting twin Kheres assault cannons (or a beefed-up version thereof). That would essentially make the Contemptor-Mortis redundant and also free up an Elites slot.

Now I must badger FW for that lovely UM blue recipe...
