Chefzilla
One of my biggest peeves with GW is the open top vehicle models specifically the Basilisk and the Wyvren. I found a great chimera conversion that add the quad gun for a Hydra. I think the company was in Poland. Unfortunately I never bookmarked them. Anyone know whom I'm talking about? Also does anyone have a tutorial on doing a plasticard mod for the Basilisk? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302618-hydra-flak-tank/ Share on other sites
WarriorFish
I'm afraid I have no idea what conversion you might be talking about. There have been a few over the years so maybe an Internet search might dredge up what you're looking for? Making an enclosed crew compartment for a Bassie shouldn't be too hard, I think a couple have been done in WIP topics here somewhere. I did a quick search but couldn't find any tutorials unfortunately. CyderPirate
Is it one of these you're thinking of? http://bitspudlo.com./products/flak-cannon-platform http://puppetswar.eu/product.php?id_product=319 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302618-hydra-flak-tank/#findComment-3932194 Share on other sites

I know that it's a conversion kit for the chimera even worse is that I remember asking them if it would fit the Hyrda but never heard back. CyderPirate
Only other places I could think of were Kromlech and MaxMini, but neither of them do a quad gun. hendrik
the easiest to make enclosed basilisk will most likely be something along the lines of what i did: http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/IMG_20140415_223708_zpskfx7sabg.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/IMG_20140415_223720_zpstts0rhrh.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb281/amorfatipictures/IMG_20140415_223648_zpsbckzyzlg.jpg you start this patterns by making a paper mockup to see how you want to alter stuff like height etc. The plasticard was cut so it would fit the lines of the basilisk. an easy method of making sure it will fit is by putting some paint on the inner side of the basilisk and making a bleuprint on paper. the only downside is that this design looks more like a german tank destroyer than an artillery piece, but overall i really like it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302618-hydra-flak-tank/#findComment-3932269 Share on other sites

Brother Paen
Wow. Thats pretty much what I did with plasticard and an Aegis defense line. Better detail, less work and similar price. Outstanding! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302618-hydra-flak-tank/#findComment-3932968 Share on other sites
