Thunder Wolf load out questions.

So after reading through this thread, I went and looked up Deahwolf and his rules/stats. Why is he preferred over Canis, and why even take him at all over a lord on a TW? Deathwolf's stats don't seem very impressive and he is only 10 points less than Canis.

Just curious about it, incase I'm missing something here.

Deathwolf trumps Canis due to his outflank, extra wound, invul save, better WS.

personally, I run my own lord on a thunderwolf mount for the runic armor alone.

WLK

Why do people think he is so poor?

For me, it's not that Canis is poor, it's just that Harald is better. He's 5 points more, but has better WS and leadership and 1 more wound. Canis' Born of Wolves ability is nice but I prefer the frost axe on Harald to Canis' claws. +2S and AP2 is real nice.

Hi Everyone

I know there have been a lot of threads about the best possible load out and number of thunderwolves.

I have never uesd them and just bought some, and I wanted to know what would be the best general load out for the models I have.

I will have access to -

x3 thunderwolf Cav with the normal sprues and weapons they come with.
X1 Harold Deathwolf
X1 canis Wolfbourne

I was thinking of running something like the following.

x1 WC BP
x1 WC SS
X1 TH or PF and SS

But i am honestly just guessing based on previous threads and my own thoughts.

Could i get some advise based onthe models i have as to the load out you would run please.

I will be playing mainly Orks, Eldar, and Blood angels.

i run a unit of 4, all of them have SS, two of them have WC and 2 have PF. nothing lives.
