irwit
Hi all I think the rules for Punisher cannons are probably the best leman russ build, however the model could be better. Anyone have any good ideas or pics of what could be used instead? WarriorFish
Best Leman Russ build for Pask, perhaps ;) I like the GW model but I have seen some alternatives around. I'm afraid I can't point you to any specifically but it's basically a giant machine gun so anything along those lines will look good :) If you're feeling adventurous, perhaps assault cannons could be a good source? I've even seen some of the super heavy barrels mounted once or twice! Bit too big for me though. CoffeeGrunt
Puppetswar do some cool Gatling-style turrets you could convert onto the barrel. Failing that, perhaps you could utilise the Forge World Punisher Cannons? irwit
Those forgeworld ones look great! Never thought to look there. I also found some on bitspudlo. Thanks both for the replies. I will get ordering soon :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302659-alternative-punisher-cannons/#findComment-3934351 Share on other sites
Kierdale
I do know of an add-on kit you can get for Gundam-like models which is a clockwork (think 'Zoids') mini gun. I've always thought it would be great in a Punisher. If you're interested I can get the details from my hobby shop this weekend. irwit
That would be great to see something gundam? I always liked the tau suit assault cannon type thing. Will definately get some pics up when done :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302659-alternative-punisher-cannons/#findComment-3934747 Share on other sites
CoffeeGrunt
If you were a filthy heretic like me, you could use the Heavy Burst Cannon as a base for one, though I think it's a bit big for the job. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302659-alternative-punisher-cannons/#findComment-3934749 Share on other sites
BassWave
Kromlech makes some tank turrets. They have an executioner, a punisher, and I forget the last one. I bought two of the executioner turrets for my predators and I'm very happy with the quality. Definitely check them out :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302659-alternative-punisher-cannons/#findComment-3935164 Share on other sites
Stercus
Now, I wasn't building a russ, but for a recent contest Grotsmasha ran, I entered a vindicator with its main gun swapped out for a punisher. I couldn't get hold of one on eBay, and the budget wasn't there for a whole box set just to use one component, so I had a stab at scratch building. It took a bit of working out and measuring, and frantically trying to remember how geometry works, but it was a lot of fun. (It also cost about £2.50 in plastic rods and sheets, with loads left over). I'd recommend it as a project. I'd post pics, but my iPad doesn't like doing links and I can't get to the pc for a bit, but if you look up "Lacerator" in the "treadheads and flyboys" thread you'll see what an hour or so can produce in the hands of a slghtly hamfisted and very out of practice modeller.
