Hi guys,

I hope all of your projects are going well.

Does anyone remember back to the good ole days of the 2nd ed. Codex Chaos? The appendix at the back had an army list for Daemon World armies. These armies don't contain chaos marines like a regular chaos army but rather they are made up of the chaos warriors, beastmen and monsters that exist on a daemon world and fight for the pleasure of the ruling daemon prince. Back in 2nd ed. daemon princes made the greater daemons look like girl scouts.

Right from the start I've been enamoured with the idea of this army and with my recent decision to sell off all my old chaos stuff and re-invest the cash into an army that I'll enjoy, I've decided that Daemon World is the way to go.

My plan is to use Warhammer fantasy models to create a "counts as" army using the current codex chaos as a basis and adding some daemon allies.

Here is my Chaos Lord, Relshab the Faceless - A mortal follower who has gained the favour of his master and risen in status.

And while I'm putting together an old-school army, I scratch built this guys about a year ago. Looking through a really old Warhammer fantasy RP book I came across a greater daemon of Khorne known as a Mardagg. It's kind of like an incarnation of death.

Anyway my intention is to stick a couple of wings on this guys back and use him as a counts as Bloodthirster.

At the moment I'm working on a Land raider as a centre piece for the army. I'll post photo's as it starts to come together.

Some of my other ideas include the obvious chaos warriors and beastmen to represent marines and cultists. Some of those new massive skaven stormfiends as obliterators and a vortex beast as a maulerfiend. I know that a lot of my models may end up over sized and I'm OK with that. I just want an army that looks cool.

@Pearson73: Thank you, I'd would like to post more regularly but it's difficult to do when job hunting.

@oldschoolsoviet: Thank you, I'd never seen the Gravelord Nito before. Maybe I should look to more computer games for inspiration. I got a chance to look at McGibs' stuff the other week. The dude's got serious talent.

Wow that skeleton demon!

It reminds me of Nito too, maybe better even:) You should definitely check out some other characters from Dark Souls if you're looking for inspiration, it has some awesome concepts. I might be a bit biased though since it's my favorite game:)

I picked up these bad boys over the weekend to use as possessed. If anyone is wondering, this kit is awesome and loaded with bits plus you get 10 for £30 (£3 each) as opposed to the possessed box set which 5 for £20.50 (£4.10 each)

I've already put the bodies together for painting. I'll post some more WIP pics in a couple of days.

Hi guys,

So late last year I went to GW and got a Chaos warshrine. This is a great kit because, even though it's meant to be just 1 model, a savvy gamer can see the possibility of getting no less than 6 models out of this kit.

1: The warshine itself. I'm using this as a devotional platform for my landraider. The raider needs a bit of cutting to properly align the warshrine but the end result is quite cool.

2: This guy. The executioner. He comes with a few different options. (sorry for the shoddy phone cam pics)

I'm going to be using him as a "sorcerer" of Khorne. Now, before anyone kicks off about Khorne and psykers, when I say sorcerer, I mean daemon summoner. is sole job is to summon more bloodletters or whatever I've got to hand.

3 & 4: The kit comes with 2 large mutants that are meant to be carrying the shrine but with some glue and greenstuff they easily become chaos spawn.

5: A totem pole that sits a the back of the model. Stick it one a base and you've got yourself a characterful objective.

6: An awesome looking chaos star that is meant to be sat on the totem pole. Stick it on a base and.... well, you get the picture.

Unfortunately, most of my stuff is in storage so I can't show you the end results but I will as soon as I can.
