how to run bikers

Ah excellent i was thinking 5 2 meltas nurgle combi melta escorting a biker sorceror flanked by some nurgle raptors with a jump pack fisticlawd lord

I find mark of khorne raptors tend to work better, for all those extra attacks

Good point tbf im really tempted to try running pure tzeench for a while

Raptors and bikers get the same amount of attacks, though right?

I run a unit of 10 with Mark of Slanesh, Icon of Excess, Veterans of the Long War, 2x Melta, Champion with Fist/Claw and a Lord of Slanesh with the Murdersword/Meltabombs.

 

They take a hell of a lot of shooting to bring that unit down, and they more often than not achieve the objective they have in a game.

 

That and the excellent minis too.

 

 

this! i like using marines in my chaos space marines army

 

4 attacks on the charge (3 for the special weapon dude) and 5 for the champion is awesome

plus hammer of wrath and re-rolling charge if using jump packs

votlw if playing against marines helps too

 

bikes are good too though. not dissing them

just sticking up for my raptors

the reason one would take raptors over bikers is their ability to deep strike and go up to higher level on a building.

How does the ablity to deep strike help them, if they aren't a turn1 deep strike and deviate the full range. Terminators do the same, with more weapons, comperable resiliance for less points and last but not least they sit in a slot we hardly ever use.

I think both ways of running them (1x6 or 2x3) have merit. If you want to run them as ranged fire support you can grab more specialist weapons with two units, and the unit of 6 would make a pretty hefty hammer to bring down on squishy backfield things

:O you can re role charge with jump packs? I had no idea! I'll have to unshelve them now ;)

yep, if they use their feet in the movement phase and move 6", you can re-roll charges

or you can move 12" in movement phase using jump packs, then either run d6" or charge normally

Been like that since 6th :) It's always a good idea to read all the rules, games are won or lost through rule comprehension.

If you are willing to spend a little more points...you give them the Mark of Khorne and the Icon of Wrath, you get to re-roll charge distance AND move 12" in the movement phase. Like Ravenguard chapter tactics, but we got to pay for it, because we're chaos.

...Then again, that applies to Bikers too :(
