Hesh Kadesh
Theoretical question guys; what would be the complaints against modifying the Battles in the Age of Darkness to 7th Edition Battleforged rules? I find that the 6th edition copy paste is clunky and boring, and very poorly designed. The 7th edition allies system is massively improved over 6th edition. Having some 'Heresy Houserules' changing some basic things would improve the introduction of other units. One of the scariest things about Heresy gaming is the huge set up cost (£400ish for a 2k list, and that is minmaxing points to pounds). Starting a new legion is quite a huge thing. For those who are against the theorised update, why? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302727-changing-to-7th-edition-battle-forged/ Share on other sites
tdemayo
As far as objectives go, I far prefer the 7th edition system. Under 6th, I always felt like I had to take troops (most of which are short ranged) and sit them on an objective, doing nothing for most of the game. I like holding objectives with the stuff that wouldnt leave the backfield anyway, and advancing with troops. Brofist
I'm pretty sure the FAQ cleared this up. If you play 30k in 40k they recommend you use the 7th edition FOC rules from the BRB, but stick to the allies chart in the heresy books. If your friends want to play in 30k then they use the FOC from the heresy book and allies chart from the 40k book. If you dig around we had a thread about this in the rules section, I think. Athrawes and I use the new random objectives method - it helps balance the game from a previous all out shoot fest.
