Brother Heinrich
Hey everyone, So I was wondering if anyone has some size comparison shots of how big the Primarch's heads are in comparison to regular plastic space marine ones. I ask because frankly I've been pretty underwhelmed with the facial sculpting that FW has done and just about every Primarch save Ferrus and Vulkan, and I want to use a regular marine head and sculpt my own hair for it (Speaking about Curze specifically in this case). Castiel
By my measure Mk III helmeted head ~6mm, Vulkan's head is ~9mm. Hope this helps! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302883-primarch-head-size/#findComment-3937745 Share on other sites
Conn Eremon
I've been wanting to see a Primarch with a helm since Angron was released. Color me intrigued if you end up showcasing one! Fire Golem
I think that Horus head above is excellently sculpted. I've not seen it close up like that. tdemayo
Maybe use one of the slightly oversized 40k centurion helmets? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302883-primarch-head-size/#findComment-3938086 Share on other sites
DimDim
Here's a MKIII, Morty, Horus, and a bare SM head: http://i.imgur.com/YgxJVEi.png does anyone else see the resemblance between the horus head and the marine head to his right besides the less crisp detail? Future "Little" Horus Aximand Conversion anyone? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302883-primarch-head-size/#findComment-3938212 Share on other sites
Brother-Chaplain Kage
I think that Horus head above is excellently sculpted. I've not seen it close up like that. It is a very nice sculpt, but I think the nose on both Morty and Horus are too narrow, like rhinoplasty gone wrong. Brother Heinrich
Thanks BCK, I was hoping the difference between them and regular heads would be slight, guess I'll just have to order Curze and mock it up for you guys to judge. I just hate how his face looks. They went from the potential awesomeness of this: http://tencopper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/kurze.jpg To this: http://belloflostsouls.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Konrad-Curze-10.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302883-primarch-head-size/#findComment-3938240 Share on other sites
Fire Golem
I think that's the same head on Curze, just the first one has more shadow over it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302883-primarch-head-size/#findComment-3938315 Share on other sites
Slips
It looks the same but with less creases and wrinkles; a lot flatter than the final product. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302883-primarch-head-size/#findComment-3938320 Share on other sites
Wyvern
To be fair bud i think its just the way they've painted it, actually looks pretty cool if you paint it to actually look nostramon Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302883-primarch-head-size/#findComment-3938361 Share on other sites
Daemon2027
Brother Herinrich, you could always carefully cut the bottom to position Curze head so it's more in the shadow. Thats a good point, I may do just that. I feel like with both Curze and Mortarion they failed to heed Alfred Hitchcock's old philosophy on terror of letting the mind of the viewer do the work instead creating the monster for them. This is how I always love to picture Curze, never fully in the light, always hidden in shadow. To that end I will work to convey this when I get my claws on him :D http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m6n3jfpUsX1qlcwcfo1_1280.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302883-primarch-head-size/#findComment-3938624 Share on other sites
Daemon2027
Paint him as if he was in darkness, or by moon light. I agree with you on the face, the unseen terror is always the most effective. Hesh Kadesh
I might have to pick myself up Mortarions head to use with Curze. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302883-primarch-head-size/#findComment-3938852 Share on other sites

Mors Vincit
While we are talking about primarch heads, does anyone know of any helmets that would be appropriate size. I would like to find some for them. It does matter what company. They just need to be cool.
