Dark green space wolves

All depends on how fluffy your local players are.  Personally I don't care.  I stopped using baby blue a long time ago, and go for a dark blue/grey.  Since Dark Green are for DA, and they're the chapter SW hate right after Thousand Sons, that's really the only issue.

It's your army..paint them the way you like. With the old the Lost Company fluff in mind, I could see them changing colors over time for a myriad of reasons. Just know that you may not get ready support from fluff mongers.

You should die a horrible traitorous death for even thinking such a thing, let a long speaking of such out loud.

Oh the pure horror.

Now go away and paint them Space Wolves Grey like I used to do. Then Green, Black, Different Greys, Camo, White, Blueish White and currently going Blue :)

I used to paint my marines in green camo, badly, but I did it. I still have a hard time with making my marines glaring colors, which is why I stick to the grey, and black scheme like grimnar's company. I can honestly see space wolves painting their armor in greens to camouflage themselves, after all wolves are greys and browns for that reason, and the SW's would certainly take cues from nature. I kind see my great company as akin to the rangers, quiet and sneaky, right up to when they jump out and holler before they hit you with a hatchet.

I never liked green for any Space Marine. Until I spent an evening browsing Artwork and Minis of the Salamanders. Since then I think, that you can do everything with every color. It's just a matter of "style" and combination with other colors.

Or to put it a more constructive way: When using Green for Space Wolves, I instantly think of irish/celtic Arts and Craft Stuff: Bright Green (dark is also okay of course) with a lot of Gold, and maybe single Shouldepads in White … sounds tempting to me. So go for it and post pics!

That is pretty much how I did it: painted my wolves in scaly green base tone with scorpion green triskeles as company symbol. Never had anyone complaining about ..any colour is better than plastic grey or just primed models.

The laid-back, sportsmanship side of me says "Your army, your choice. Paint them for your own enjoyment first and foremost."

The lifelong Wolf Lord in me wants to challenge you to a duel for the honor of the Chapter. furious.gif

But honestly, I'd rather see a good-looking army in a non-regulation color than an unpainted one, or a primed one, or even a poorly-painted blue-grey one. And it's not like we're Ultrasmurfs, bound to the Codex You-Oughta's. Wolves have always done things their own way.
