War Hounds Legion Sicaran teaser

Hey guys!

Just thought I'd share a teaser of my War Hounds Legion Sicaran that's nearly done.

Been a busy project - but so close!!

From what I have read the War Hounds were quite different from the Legion that Angron restructured to become the World Eaters so have had a challenge coming up with markings...

Hope you like!

Ooooo purrty!

You've also got a couple of War Hounds tactical Marines in Mk III right? I feel like I've seen your name while scrolling through Google images looking for inspiration...

Edit: Nevermind, clicked the linky. Knew I saw your name before. Awesome stuff. One of the few (come to think of it, maybe only) collection of War Hounds I've seen.

How did you get your decals not to show up shiny? Did you matte coat them?

Hey there!

To be honest it is a quality sporadic and timely process.

I did a coat of watered down GW 'ardcoat and left it to dry.

when it was dry I did another coat and left it to dry.

The next day i applied the decals and some Tamiya Decal Smoother.

The next day I applied another coat of 'ardcoat

The day after that it was two straight but thin coats of Lahmian Medium.

It doesn't always work so well, but over white it's pretty solid.

Over darker colours I have had less luck!

Hey Kurama!

A fellow Aussie?

Sweet, man.

Glad you like the Sicaran - been slow going but I'm happy with the result so far.

Will be working this weekend, but still hoping to get it done in the next few days.

Thanks for commenting!

Dude - you live in Adelaide - that's punishment enough :)

Had a look at some of the stuff you've uploaded - i'm not taking your force on anytime soon!

Hey guys,

thanks for your kind words - I'm going to put a new post up in the other section, but if you'd like to see more pics - here it is done:

Dude love all your warhound stuff

Anymore future pieces?

Hey Kurama,

Glad you liked the finished product.

I have a Contemptor and some Veterans (and one non-veteran) on my site.

It's been trial and error along the way. I blogged the whole thing - which is a tad angsty but I had to get it out.

The recipe is up there for the paint job too.

... and to answer your question, yes I have some more things planned. I basically need to get stuck into the infantry and hard!

Have a Scimitar on the way too.

:D

That's kind of incredible.

Hey fire golem. Thanks man.

I have some more picks on my site if you want a gander

stunning absolutely love it, the only thing I would say as a positive critique is that I prefer a more bold highlight, especially on hard edges like the sciran, that said I mean it I love your work both here and on ur blog. War hounds are such an awesome legion; I love world eaters/war hounds, before the khorne zerkers. And this has it all; the markings are so clean it makes my heart weep with joy. Excellent job!

I'm in the early stages of beginning a War Hound army.  Although mine are World Eaters who stayed loyal.  I've got some Red Butchers with Lightning Claws I'm painting up first.  Funnily enough I've googled then in the past a quickly found your site (as you say there aren't that many around) :)

Thanks slipknotzim - such nice words!

I was tempted and may still do harsher highlights I just wanted it to look less like an Ultramarine vehicle. It's a fine line smile.png

Thanks again for the comment.

Looks great, nice clean colours.

Thanks very much, Pearson73.

I took a lot of time with it and am so tempted to do a Rhino too, but the time - where is the time??

Hey Adra'Melek,

love to see your stuff some time.

Hope the blog helps - there's a recipe on the War Hounds page if that helps.

I mean do your own thing, but if it helps it's there.

Here's a link to my WIP on here. Not much in it as of yet. Mostly just testing some stuff out. The Chaplain has been repurposed. Hoping to get it going again soon.

Looking good.

Can't wait to see more.

Hope the materials I gathered from different sources helps you out.
