Running a Relic Sicaran

So for Christmas my darling wife gave me a Sicaran, which I really like model wise.  How do those of you who own run like to run it (in 40K, specifically.)  I'm thinking of the lascannon sponsons and no legacy of glory for pure anti-tank goodness but not too many points.  But then for a bit more I can be more effective in the role; should I go big and spend the extra points for tank hunters?   Two TFCs cost for a 3 HP tank seems pretty steep.

The other configurations seem they could be decent; TLAC and HB stock for the price seems good; 3xHB and the TLAC is more anti-infantry, but for the price again seems pretty decent but a bit of a waste for the TLAC.  Anyway, thanks, looking forward to hearing opinions.

Either configuration is good so make sure you magnetize it to keep your options open. LoG Mars is nice for like you said Tank Hunter, and points will be well worth it. Nothing about a Sicaran is a waste, they are Fast and those are not your everyday auto cannons, TL, rending, ignore jink. It will become a compulsory unit in your army. I have 2 for my 30k army, but they are even better in 40k, being able to take Tank Hunter for a few points is something we don't get in 30k. Also in 40k the ignore jink rule will make many Xeno scoff at you in a, "Well I never" sort of manner. Were I to play a 40k game I would give them LC and LoG Tank Hunter.

Congrats on the new relic and I hope you make many a foe weep at the sight of it.

Ceramite has not made any difference for me. It's easy enough to defend the tank from deepstrikers and it's fast enough to stay out of melta range during later turns.

When mine has been destroyed in the two most recent games I played it was by multiple Las cannon shots or high volume of str 7/8 hits from a flyer against it's side armour.

Legacy of Mars is really, really useful.

The Sarosh legacy is also great and can down a dangerous flyer on the turn it arrives with ease.

Overall, great unit.

Running LC's and the Legacy of Mars takes it to 200 points. Where is the breaking point for the tank do you think for those of you who've played it? Is that too much? Or will it make it's points back? What about running the HB's instead for some AI as well?

From how the one I had played, the laz cannons can easily makes their worth felt (Pinning demon constructs in cover as they fear the two str9 shots as much as they fear the autocannon). But the bare tank is great too. The main turret is where its value really lives.
