Completed the Support Squad. Started work on a Sicarian should have a WIP photo up tomorrow.

Started on some Gorgons last night going to make this a sort of Step by step guide as I have been asked by some people for one.

 

1. Prime Black

2. Vallejo Model Air Black Metal the whole miniature.

3. Paint Black on head, shoulders, Knees pads if you have them, and soft under armor, also on power core exhaust vents.

4. Scorpion Brass the other non ferrous metal parts, and cables, or things that look like they may be used to conduct electricity so wires and the sort.

5. Paint steel, cogs, and weapon metal bits with Leadbelcher.

6. Ceramite White the Iron Hands symbols.

7. Zandri Dust the base.

8. Wash everything is Agrax Earthshade.

9. Runfange Steel all the raised areas and metal parts that light would hit.

10. Ceramite White the eyes and lenses and IH iconography.

11. Glaze the white in they eyse and lenses with Guilliman Blue.

12. Don't forget skulls, we don't have many so its easy to forget them.

13. Dry Brush base using Underhive Ash and dry brush up to the knees to give a dusting effect.

14. OSL Power weapons, 1st Night Blue (Vallejo Game Color), 2nd Magic Blue (Vallejo Game Color), 3rd Macaragge Blue (Citadel), 4th White Scare (Citadel).

15. Shrubberies, Ni! (Being color blind I thought these were brown I have just been told by my wife they are green. Not what I wanted but I have like 1000 Points based like this already so no going back)

16. Finished Result. I wanted an iron look to their armor with a lot of metallic like the armor shown in the HH rule books. I think washing the Black metal in agrax gives the best result for an Iron looking armor.

17. Varnish, I use Liquitex Matte Varnish and Liquitex Satin Varnish in a 50/50 mix to give a slightly oiled metal look to it.

So I finished my first vehicle and attempted some weathering with a sponge and airbrush, I think it turned out well but next time I want to try the hair spray and salt method for chipping.
