EnterRehab
So I've been putting together an army list that I think deals with a lot of the problems the GK currently have, and I want some opinions on how to make it better or even rip it apart. I'm not going to go through the army list, just what units I took and why. This list rolls in right around 2000 pts.Inquisition Xenos inquisitor - Tax2 Jokaero - Lascannons or flamers, depending on needs1 Psyker - DivinationPurpose: Need more backfield scoring and point holding.. It's pretty squishy, but the main reason for this squad is to bring the razorback.. which is better than the GK razorback.Razorback - psybolt ammo and the extra storm bolter.Purpose: mobility and excellent shootingVindicare AssassinPurpose: Precision shooting and great at taking out individual targets. The GK really miss out on a lot of strong guns. Grey Knights Libby - Storm bolter w/ demios upgrade.Terminator squad - PsycannonPurpose: Very stable. very functional, mobile, and provides a definite threat to every army.Purifiers - 2 flamerspurpose: purifiers bring a need that most GK lists lack. the ability to dish out a lot of low strength hits.Stormravenpurpose: an extra armor hunter. Also the perfect delivery method for the purifiers. They're PA, so it's nice to not let them die immediately (Turn 1) Ultramarines TiggyDevastator centurions - GravCannonsPurpose: fairly obvious. grav cannons are insanely OP and Tiggy can bring a lot of buffing with him.Drop podPurpose: better delivery method for Tiggy and his devastators. Also brings guns. yay!Scoutspurpose: cheapest tax option. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303348-crafting-a-bound-army-based-gk/ Share on other sites
IndigoJack
How are you getting a drop pod? Space marines can only get then through dedicated transports, and the only transports centurions can take are land raider variants Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303348-crafting-a-bound-army-based-gk/#findComment-3947768 Share on other sites

Reclusiarch Darius
You should be taking Draigo with Centurions. Without him they're so much slower and less effective. Fury of Deimos is awful and should be ignored. Waste of points. Grand Master Caloth
Eh, it's only 5 points more than a regular sb. *shrugs* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303348-crafting-a-bound-army-based-gk/#findComment-3948629 Share on other sites

Fury of Deimos is awful and should be ignored. Waste of points. I can drop the hammers and the demios, no problems. The pod as well gives me back (75) points.. mostly because I selected the wrong one. 3 hammers: 30 points awesome droppod: 75 demios + bolter: 20(?) that gives me back 125 points. still need to find 120 points. dropping 1 jokaero and switching it for a servitor to get me back 15 more points. Not sure what else I can do to make it fit. Can you run SM as a ally detachment instead of a CAD? Except for LotD and Inquisition, but that's only because they lack any troops choices. Reclusiarch Darius
Eh, it's only 5 points more than a regular sb. *shrugs* Yeah but it's literally just an extra shot and some more range. 10pts could buy you a hammer on a squad, or a hammer+storm bolter on the Libby. I'd get rid of the Inquisition entirely. That Vindicare alone is 145 points of 'maybe I kill something, unless they make cover saves'. The Razorback is an easy First Blood to a halfway competent opponent, and the Henchmen don't really do anything but be expensive and easily killed. Ishagu
Too many detachments leads to a lot of tax in battleforged armies... One Assasin is fine, but I'd drop Inquisition for additional Gks or Ultas. If you want Centurions you really need Draigo to lead them, but be warned - that is a very powerful unit and frankly too cheesy for regular friendly games.
