Kasrkin Project WIP

Ok, I've gotten the supplies to make my Kasrkin and I intend to follow through with this project in-line with my Knights, since them together are increasingly looking like my army of choice. I'll post some pictures here, eventually. My initial project is...

Scion Command - Meltagun x4

Scions x5 - Meltagun x2

Scions x10

I know that this leaves that last squad in a weird position but I'm hoping to use them as objective grabbers and to take advantage of the sniper order. Mostly I want cheap deep striking bodies and am out of points in my 1850 list. If that changes then I'll rearrange things and, eventually, make them some plasmaguns.

Here is the plan for the basic conversion, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS WORKS IN YOUR OPINION.

  1. Start with a basic Cadian.
  2. Green stuff some armor onto the knees and add a crotch plate. Hopefully in the same style as the actual Kasrkin models.
  3. Use the Eisenkern Stormtrooper backpacks as the power source for their hellguns (hotshot sounds a little stupid to me.)
  4. Using the standard lasgun, shave off the power cell and connect the lasgun to the backpack with some coiled wire from Home Depot.
  5. Using the respirators from the command squad sprue, only the mask is attached to Cadian heads. Green stuff might be smoothed over the eyes to represent a visor of some kind.
  6. The control panel, or whatever it is supposed to be, from the respirator will be attached to the side of lasguns to bulk them out and make them look fancier.
  7. Meltaguns come from the Centurion sprue and are a little more compact than the standard models. I hope that this makes them look better.
  8. I am contemplating, bulking up the right forearm and greenstuffing some kind of screen AND finding meatier barrels for the lasguns.

Would that sufficiently scream Kasrkin to you guys?

personally I'm playing around qith a similar idea, though I'm using FW's Cadian Hostile Environment sets. the legs take some time to do, but are fairly easy to do. I've added gloves to the forearms with GS and I'm currently working on the thingy at the back of the hellguns (I also hate the Hot-shot part).. I look forward to seeing your results.

for the lasgun cord I can recommend guitar strings. Cheap and durable. If you only want one string, which is enough for a whole army or two, you could ask for used one. They usually give them for free if you ask nicely.

Othervice the idea sounds intriguing. I say as Elmo, PHOTOS!
