As you can see in the Background, i have started spraying the Already built guys with a light Grey to get started on the painting.

Todays progress was completing the amazing Relic Contemptor Kit, absolutely awesome to work with.

Starting on the Sicaran, which is a huge solid block of resin, heft brick of a tank

And the starting on the Scorpius while everything else was drying.

Tomorrow should be the finishing touches of these tanks and maybe the start to the Proteus.

Polux already has had most of his heraldry stripped of him, and awaiting new Ultramarine heraldry to be annointed ;)

Ahahah oh i see. Well it is in Memory of him, and of oodles of respect as he is a kick ass character.

I am in talks with my Tournament organiser to use his rules as my praetor, but obviously not Imp Fists AA rules. So we will see.

Im pretty happy with the Praetor Load out you came up with and I ninja'd

Also, on an unrelated note, where, in 40/30k is the best Sheathed Broadsword. Need to somehow put onto Polux a Paragon Blade.

Ok so first Game of the Tournament was played today, as requested by Slipstreams, here is a bat rep of the game.

Ok so to set up. The Army lists.

I was using roughly

A Praetor all tooled up (I have posted a few places what he had, and its alot of fun)

In a command Squad of 4 models, with 3 power swords, 3 Combat Shields.
Inside a Land Raider Phobos.

2 Squads of Vets, inside Rhinos. Only upgrades was the Heavy Bolter with Suspensor Web.

Deredeo Dreadnought with the Autocannon and Missile Battery

Mortis Contemptor Dreadnought with Kheres Assault Cannons

Whirlwind Scorpius

Sicaran.

His army was effectively the Decurian detachment

Reclamation Legion, with Anrakyr as the Overlord, with an add on of 9 Destroyers.

The Mission played was Number 1 on the Maelstrom of war, but we forgot about Night Fighting and Mysterious Objectives.

His Warlord trait was a stock one for Anrakyr and mine was something useless regarding reserve rolls, of which neither of us had any.

We played long ways down the table, as you may see in some pics, that there were 2 lads painting along the long edge haha.

Turn 1
He could do nothing, but come towards me. Only damage was a HP popped off of a Rhino. He did however claim 3 VP's on a D3 for controlling 3 objectives or something

I managed to move forward and pop his Ghost Ark with the Sicaran through glancing, my dreadnoughts cleared some infantry and the Scorpius felled a few more warriors. Part from first blood, i managed no more VP;s

Turn 2
My opponent managed another 3 on a D3 for Supremacy. Also Gauss'd my Sicaran to death (Which was like losing a bit of my heart) But absolutely wiffed any Glancings on my Rhinos

My Land Raider started to flank to hit his Destroyer unit and Lord, popping a few wounds with Lascannons. The armour again cleared off a load of Warriors, and the Deredeo waddled toward an Objecitve to help me claim it. Also gained another VP for making one of his units of Warriors fall back.

Turn 3
As you can see from above, he made alot of offensive moves, brought his Tomb blades close, his Destoyers close and ran some warriors. I lost nothing much in the shooting phase, although he glaced down one of my Rhinos and forced a Vet squad out.

In my turn, i charged my Command Squad and Praetor out of the Land Raider into his Destroyer Lord and his unit, my Lord slaying his in a challenge, and the rest of my squad slaying all but 1 of his models. Leaving me perfectly ready to stay put for his turn safe from shooting, finish him off, and come out in my turn.

Turn 4
His Units harassed, and wrecked my last Rhino and killed most of the lads that came outside, only man standing was the Character Sargent, which he needed to kill for a card ;)His tomb blades charged into my other Vet squad, but did nothing. Drawn combat. My Lords unit absolutely WIFFED their rolls, and he made an incredible amount of saves, and could only do 1 wound to his destoryer leaving it for me to kill in my turn, which was not ideal

My turn, My contemptor, scorpius and Deredeo cleared off all but a smattering of his warriors, and one unit of Destroyers. The Tomb Blade combat was another draw, but my Praetor smashed his other destroyer, and consolidated towards his unit of Anrakyr and Immortals that had been workng their way down the board.

Turn 5
At this point, he was winning nearly 10-5, or something, and could smell victory. So i thikn got a bit lax, and didnt do a whole lot. Couldnt shoot with much apart from last full unit of destoryers, which did nothing, and two small units of warriors, that did nothing. He tried to charge my sargent with Anrakyr, and failed.

I charged my Contemptor into the Tomb Blades, and slaughtered them, moving towards the middle of the table, towards the last units of warriors, hoping for Turn 6. My Praetor charged the immortals and Anrakyr, and slaughtered him with Instant Death, and my vets kill the immortals. Consolidated towards the middle ground too, hoping for the tableing.

Turn 6
My opponent could do not alot apart from shoot with his warriors, which glanced my Contemptor to dust. His last unit of Destroyers slunk into my deployment zone for linebreaker, and tried to shoot the Deredeo and failed. Also shot my Sargent.

I charged my remaining vet squad into the warriors in the middle, after my scorpius had cleared the other unit off of the board. My praetor moved towards to join this combat, but didnt make the charge distance. My land raider and Deredeo shot at the last Destroyers and killed 1, Deredeo Charged, and killed another, left in combat with the last one.

At this point, he was winning 11-6, but had 7 warriors and 1 Destroyer on the board, PRAYING for end of game.

..Turn 7 ;)
His turn was just combat, in which he realised his destoyers couldnt hurt me, but, didnt want to run away at risk of being either overrun, or LR would shoot him. His warriors killed a vet, and i killed a Warrior in return.

My turn, the Praetor charged the Warriors, and slaughtered them all.

It came down to only having one Destroyer, on one wound left. my Deredeo attacked, hit... failed to wound.

Game Over.

My first game with 30k and i absolutely LOVED it. I love the theme of using a mighly Veteran and venerable Ultramarine list, everything being a scalpel instead of a sledgehammer, it could go horribly, but this went well. Even though i lost.

Next game in 2 weeks time. Expect a Bat Rep.

Well this is the first 30k army in the local Meta, so there was lots of trepidation.

And there was a guy who turned up at our last weekly meet with 9 of the Eldar Hornets and absolutely rekt face, which didnt help dissolve the "Forgeworld is overpowered" opinion.

But he enjoyed it, he liked the lack of And they shall know no fear, and liked the vehicles. Obviously everyone loves the models. So all in all he was very impressed. He liked my list, as did I, and said it just felt like playing a well invested Marine army.
