Ok so after a little chat with my Tournament organiser and a few local friends, i am looking to add a 500 point roughly ally force to what i already own.

This is by no means because i am bored of collecting UM or FW, it is more that i am so up for making this UM the linchpin of a huge and related Imperial Force.

I have established some Fluff (Scroll back a few pages) for how this Force sits in the Heresy, but now i have had to set up a bit of Random (Doesnt really make sense) fluff for how this force sits in the 40k world now i am playing a narrative campaign.

So my Force is travelling through the warp from its Home planet on the Fringe of the 500 Worlds of Ultramar, en route to the Calth Muster. Turbulent warp storms wrack the ship assaulting it from all sides. Several times they are left stranded in the warp as great Songs play in the Immaterial.

When they emerge from the Warp they drop into a Real Space very different from how i left it.

After a crackling stand off with local Ultramarine Forces surrounding the local system, the 36th Company are ordered to Macragge for debriefing.

As they reach the inner system of the home world, the world they have not stepped foot on in what seems like months, they are met but an unfamiliar force wielding the power of the God-Emperor. The Inquisition stands ready to question and interrogate the force of Marines, (Which now VASTLY eclipses the now 1000 strong Ultramarine Chapter), that have been traversing the Warp for over 10 millennium.

For months the 36th are retrained and isolated in their ships, resting and waiting in high orbit above a planet on the outer system of Macragge, where the Inquisition interrogate and investigate every member of the crew, Human or Astartes. The 36TH resign themselves to this fight as they struggle to assimilate the sheer quantity of information they have received.

Horus led a rebellion. 8 of his Brothers joined him. Lorgar sacked the 500 worlds.

Guilliman is dead or dying in statis. The Emperor was struck down and lays decaying on the Golden Throne.

The Legions are gone. split into Chapters.  New arms of the law govern the Astartes, the Inquisition keep a close eye, the Grey Knights battle the Daemons which are rife.

New Xenos forces assault the Imperium from all angles.

After many more Months, the 36th Company agree to continue fighting Chaos, and especially the traitor legions, in all their forms and guises. They request to continue the Great Crusade as their new Brothers the Black Templars do. To lead an Expedition Force out into the void. The Inquisition impose sanctions on this force, that they must at all times travel with bodyguards to maintain a constant vigil over their loyalty and that they carry no taint. They are gifted by Terra a fighting force of Imperial Guard and a Strike force of Militarum Tempestus. They are followed everywhere by an Inquisitorial shadow and rumours persist of a Space Wolf cruiser keeping track of their movements, much as the Wolves did during the Heresy, and given the 36th Affinity with the Wolves, the company of fellow Marines is not shunned.

This is obviously a load of trifle, sounds fun and cool in my head, but waffle in reality. But it leads me into my Ally problem.

What would be most fun an interested to ally with my quite Mechanised and quite Veteran Force.

Astra Militarum?
Militarum Tempestus?
Adaptus Sororitas?
Solar Auxilia?
Mechanicum?

I will evenually have a "Wing" of all of these forces to battle with and be part of my Expedition Force. Its just what would be most fun now :D

Is that a thing? Jesus. That sounds immense.

Although Slips, someone in my local group did just contribute the thought of a small Black Templar Force using IMP FIST rules msn-wink.gif

I wont say no to that and it would make sense that they would be watched over the crusading Chapter of 40k but, that seems beneath space marines to do. Let the Plebs and the faulty inquisition deal with them.

But, since his fluffstification is that they popped out into the 41st millenium and have come under Inquisitorial Scrutiny, then SoB with an Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor + Cannon Fodder Imperial Guard escort would make the most sense.

Especially since the SoB are the Chamber Militant of the Ordo Hereticus.
