Helias_Tancred
I have the fine-cast resin model of Captain Tycho. I want to strip the current paint job off of him and make him a Death Company Tycho ;) So what works to strip him? Thanks. Father Mehman
Simple Green works wonders. I've got one in a bath of it right now. thraxdown
Whatever you do DO NOT use brake fluid Worked great on my plastic models, but it turned Draigo into a piece of unpainted rubber Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303420-what-strips-paint-from-a-fine-cast-resin-model/#findComment-3949308 Share on other sites
JGeils81
I just stripped some from eBay with 91% rubbing alcohol, took about 4 hours soaking in it, then ran under the sink and used a medium toothbrush.. I had no residue and no damage. Can't speak for everyone though because there's different types of paint, techniques, etc Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303420-what-strips-paint-from-a-fine-cast-resin-model/#findComment-3949331 Share on other sites
Olis
Do not use anything with Acetone in it. I'm fairly sure Nitromors and Brake Fluid will be on the no-no list, too. If you're on my side of the pond, then Dettol (brown) will probably work, as will Fairy Power Spray. If you live on the other side of it, then as Mehman said Simple Green is the stuff you want. Spazmonkey
Yeah Acetone is great at destroying anything Polymer. If your in OZ they now have simple green concentrate at Bunnings again.
