Polux!

Fire Golem

The face is great, don't get me wrong, but that is not what I'd call "void-hardened armour"...

But what exactly would you call void-hardened armour? There's not a lot of examples to go by, brother.

I was simply referring (a bit too subtly, I admit) to the fact that there's - apparently - no helmet option :)

Seen a conversion on facebook of a thousand sons version of polux with his fist replaced with a curved sword and the iconography removed, looks quite good. I love the head of the model if I kind of want to replace it with a plumed helmet for ultramarines.

Ah, I see. The internet doesn't do subtle. ;)

Actually, that is something I thought about myself. It would have been nice if there was a helmet included, assuming there isn't one.

While he is an AWESOME mini, I find his armour to be very curious in design. I like how FW is going about making those artificier suits of armour, instead of just being regular marks with extra bling the actually add a lot of details not seen anywhere else.

Don't IF vets have red helmets? So it shouldn't clash.

I would have to look up the page for Sergeant Helmets in extermination, but I think Vets are Black (with white stripe for vets).

That's for Heavy Support Vets. You're safe for using red/white stripe or yellow/red stripe.

If we go by order of mention and assumption, left most is the Early Crusade (hes in gray and its pretty much a close up of the Gray marine w/ Yellow arm), Mid Crusade is the next in plain yellow, Black w/ white is the HS Sarge, Vet Sarge is red /w white, Standard HS is Yellow w/ Black and another Vet Sarge is Yellow w/ red.

So it seems like outside of specific squad types (ie Heavy Support), IF sarges pretty much 1-up'd the UMs since for them, at the time, red helms was censure (iirc) and only after the codex did it become the standard sergeant marking.

Do I paint his power fist red or not? I'm afraid its going to clash too much with the yellow...

What about the shield fist emblem?

....very good idea...

400 Slipstreams.... I would ask how it could have gotten so high and then I just laugh and say it's FW, of course it's a 400 pound order;).

Well, its 15 Warders, 5 Templars (I kitbashed 10 ONE WEEK BEFORE THE TEMPLAR REVEAL DAMNIT), IF Contemptor, Deredeo, IF Comman, Polux and 20 Despoiler Marines (BECAUSE I NEED LEGS, ARMS AND BACKPACKS! WHY FORGEWORLD?! WHY!?!) and a few extra Contemptor Arms.

Yeah for the UM during the Heresy, red helmets were a mark of censure. Ironically they got that from the Night Lords, whose red gauntlets meant censure, but in the NL that usually meant death. But after Thiel who was marked for censure was such a badass on Calth, it became the mark of a veteran.

The irony being he only has Power Armour XD.

Doesn't really look that much bigger than the other marines and he's been described as a giant and "ogryn sized". Still, cool model.

I'll try and do a size comparison this weekend - from having him out of the box he feels on a scale with Abaddon in Termie armour. Not humongous, but a good degree bigger than other Astartes equivalents.

For anyone that's curious about the scale of the miniature, I've done the best comparison I can with Abaddon (who feels the most similar in scale), and the IF Command Squad (who have just dropped on my doorstep this morning...

Overall I'd say he's slightly shorter than Abaddon (who is meant to be big and in Termie Armour), but significantly taller than the regular marines. For a point, look at the gorget in relation to the other models - it gives you a decent idea where the head is, and I've tried to keep the feet in line.

But his suit is kitbashed for him from Terminator scrap, because he's too huge for regular PA.

That kinda reminds me of... oh, what's his name... Pasanius. Sounds like this is not a unique practice.
