Recommended Posts

I, TheHalifax, accept the challenge set to me by bushman101, and vow that I will finish building, painting, and basing a Red Scorpions tactical squad before April 5th. Completion will earn me eternal glory, while failure shall yield me shame until Midsummer.

So, as per the regulations of this challenge, here is the first picture of my Soul Grinder, assembled and Primed but unpainted. I will post update pictures soon enough.

Enjoy.

Wow, so many awesome works finished, or nearly finished. I enjoy this event already, although I couldn't start my own project as of yet. But the parts for the first dreadnought have already arrived, and so I hope to be able to start soon. Keep up the great work everyone!

I have been challenged by Brother-Chaplain Kage to finish Alaric Tyr, former XIX Legion Captain, loyal son of Terra and forefather of the Sons of Tyr.

I already had a few things I wanted to get 'right' with the eventual founder of my 40k chapter. Firstly I wanted him to have a unique armament, so I gave him enormous wrist-mounted vibroshivs which in game-terms count as Raven's Talons. I haven't yet decided if they should be painted to be electrified, bare metal, or (more unusually) as some kind of incredibly dense and (when properly smithed) very sharp bone, not unlike the talons of a Tyranid. My worry then is that with the black colour scheme he'll look like a Black Dragon. Any thoughts?

I also wanted there to be a visual link between him (as the leader of my 30k force) and Ludvos Arkhan, the leader of my 40k force. I feel using the same customised, artificer-crafted Mk.IV helm was a good way to do this.

Anyway, here's a WIP of him:

Still in every sense of the term a WIP. Any thoughts? Should I stick with the base? More or less feathers? I haven't yet decided if I want to leave the wrist-blades as-is.

The only thing I can say brother is that the blades don't seem to "match" or "fit" with the rest of him. They seem added on. Maybe some green stuff to smoothen it out?

Aside for that, I love the look and pose!

I challenge thee...

I, Tenebris, challenge The Psycho to build, paint, and base an Aspiring Champion of the Black Legion. If he accepts and completes the challenge, eternal glory will be his. If he accepts and fails, he shall wear the badge of shame until Midsummer.

And the second one:

I, Tenebris, challenge Master pendragon to build, paint, and base a Chaos Sorcerer. If she accepts and completes the challenge, eternal glory will be hers. If she accepts and fails, she shall wear the badge of shame until Midsummer.

The die is cast, the challenge is issued. I am scared not of your challenges for as a Chaos Lord I have to accept them and I will triumph in them. Step forth you two and show me what passes for fury among your kind!

I see what you mean. I'll take another crack at it tonight :smile.:

I agree that the everything is awesome except for the blades. Maybe do something similar to the retractable Predator-like blades on Kurze?

I, the Psycho, as a Lord of Black and Midnight clad, accept my lord Tenebris's challenge to build, paint, and base a Champion of my Warmaster's Legion by 0287015.M03 (read: 15 April).

If I succede, I shall surely win a place in the Ezekarion, but should I fail in my appointed task, may my lord Abaddon strike my head from my body and eat my beating hearts.

I, Tenebris, accept the challenge set to me by The Psycho, and vow that I will finish building, painting, and basing a Black Legion Aspiring Champion before April 15th. Completion will earn me eternal glory, while failure shall yield me shame until Midsummer.

The words have been spoken, the challenge was accepted. Let the Dark Gods bear witness to the trial, let them judge the worthy from the unworthy.

@Tenebris: thank you for challenging the Psycho, but you cannot issue more than one challenge: therefore I have to nullify your challenge to Master Pendragon (challenges have priority by chronology) :sad.:.

@The Psycho: You cannot have challenged Tenebris, as you have already issued a challenge to Castiel on 02/16 (and Castiel has accepted this challenge too).

Please carefully RTM, guys!

***Ignore the shoddy GS around the blade casing, this is to be filed down - this is a placeholder I wanted to show to get opinions***

OK, switched out the blades for a weapon set a little more practical and much more in scale with the rest of the figure. Thoughts?

I'm quite pleased with how the pose has worked out overall. I've also finalised the base he'll be on - I figured he needed a dramatic sprinting-off-a-cliff-face, death-from-above kind of base and this is about as close to it as I figured would be practical for gaming use.

Crits etc. welcome!
