++// 2015 Augustus' Arena \\++ EVENT ENDED

Recommended Posts

Ooooh just to appease the mechanical voices in my head:

I, Beachymike123, hereby step back into Augustus' Arena of Death, my soul suffused with the power of the Warp from fresh victory, ready for the next challenge. Please PM me before hand though so as to know what I do. May we all bask in the glory of Chaos!

AAHHHHH. Must get back to work. Bits of bikes everywhere.

the hardest part is starting. So pick something you like to do on saturdays and stop yourself from enjoying that until you sit down to paint.

for the emperor brother!

Update: Primus Medicae is done (other than basing). I wanted to do him separate so he has a distinct look from actual Firedrakes.

And, after I had a little stream-of-consciousness about bits of him, his fluff just sorta rolled out...

The Ballad of M.Edison, Primus Medicae of the XVIIIth Legion

(with apologies to Misters Starkey and McCartney and their mates)

The Inquisitor
Comes to pay a visit ta’
Maxwell in the field
Heresy revealed by the Hunter
Oh oh oh oh
‘Primus Edison
No more Chaos Medicine
You will come with me
No more heresy in this Legion’
Oh oh oh oh
But as he walks to his Chimera
Max creeps up from behind...
(Buh duh dun dun)

BANG! BANG!
Maxwell’s Silver Hammer came down upon his head
(Do-do do-do do-do)
CLANG! CLANG!
Maxwell’s Silver Hammer made sure that he was dead
(Whoa oh oh-whoa!)

So with my vow edited (with prior approval) I present my first WIP shot of Captain Keros Valant of the Star Leopards.

Sorry Kurama, had to copy your photo effect :laugh.:

Now to attempt to paint white....

Entering the final week, and I'm almost done! Man, I'm slow.

Contemptor Almost Completed

Still got to work on the weapon arms and the warheads for the missile launcher, along with the tassels that hang from several of the chains, but I really like it so far.

As for the base, well, I applied Agrellan Earth to the base, but it didn't crackle like it was supposed to. I'm really unsure what to do with it, as I'm still not sure what theme I want to use with my entire army's bases, so I'm just trying to do something fairly generic here, since the base will likely be redone later either with a more coherent direction or just resin bases.

Hard to tell, but it looks like the coat of Agrellan was pretty thin.  I think you have to make it rather thick for crackling to occur.  I'm far from certain though, seeing as I've never so much as held a bottle of the stuff in my hand

Oooooh it's getting exciting! Only seven nights to go until the second deadline of April 5th!

Many have proclaimed their participation, many have entered the arena with boasts of their prowess. But will they deliver? This shall be decided this week. Twenty four of you need to finish their vows or bear the badge of shame! :ohmy.: :ohmy.:

So plan your week, get in some paint time, and do not forget to base your mini's!!! :tu: :tu:

Badaab, Castiel, Firepower, Mehman, and Uprising, are you going to be ok? You haven´t even posted your first update yet, so shall this be a last minute victory or shall your names be forever (well, until midsummer at least) stained with failure??? Come on guys! It is still possible!

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!

Badaab, Castiel, Firepower, Mehman, and Uprising, are you going to be ok?

Hrng.  I hate progress reports.  A deadline is a deadline.  No point in mini-deadlines :P

Here.

Well the idea ehind the event is to get feedback from your challenger and other participants. There's no point in that if you only post completions!!

Can't say I see much point in feedback on an incomplete project, if I don't specifically need it for something I'm unsure of.  It's three Templars.  I've painted a couple, so I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing.  And until they're done they're mostly just black, brown and red blobs, in many pieces. :laugh.:

Templars don't do sense....

Also true. :biggrin.:
