++// 2015 Augustus' Arena \\++ EVENT ENDED

Recommended Posts

Just that I never used it before. It's not taught on the other side of the pond. I found it funny I wrote it without thinking, instead of the normal 'Frater' (probably because I visit Flint's thread so often!). Just goes to show that BnC is one big happy family - even copying each others lingo. :smile.:

ANYWAY, back OT.

TWO DAYS TILL the April 5th deadline, people! :smile.: Paint, paint like you've never painted before!

Ask and ye shall receive.

BLAM!

If I'm not too lazy I should be able to lay down basecoats with the airbrush this evening after work

Edit: Flint don't you give me more crap about my tablecloth. I know you hate it lol

Ok, after talking the talk, it's time to start walking the walk. So here's the 1st update on my two new Dreads. All parts blackened in the daemon forges in the vaults underneath the stronghold of the 53rd Grand Company.

More pictures in my WIP thread. And with that, my challenge is completed. :)

Awesome, but no slacking! Base colors by tonight and details by eod tomorrow for the win!

Sir, yes sir!

Btw, what color should I paint their leather dangly shoulder and groin pieces? I was thinking dark red?

What is your color scheme otherwise.

Dark blue, lightning streaked armor. Bronze accent metals. Blood-caked, mutilated corspses at their feet. You know, the typical VIIIth Legion panoply of war.

Excellent ISM, looking forward to seeing these bad boys up and running. It looks like the calm before the storm - I have a good feeling about this, I feel it in my metal bits! muwhahahaha

A dark red would look good and would fit their generic color palette. I would steer clear of brown so it doesn't blend too much with your bronze accents, but if you could pull off a tanned human flesh (peachy) that would look pretty wicked.

Hmm I could see how that looks....I'll have a lot of a similar color on the bases though so I don't want to overload on the same shade

Which color is your base going to be in? Mutilated corpses so I'm guessing the flesh tones and a wet blood effect?

The ground itself will be a lighter brown/mud and the bases themselves are covered in corpses.

Airbrush basecoats done!

I can see the details a lot better with the base coat down and it looks sweet! With that much dead flesh around their feet I think you're right that it might not be a great idea to do human flesh tone leather dangling right above it. Probably best to stick with your original red idea, looking around on the interwebs there are several termies painted like that and it looks pretty good.
