Difficulty of the Spartan kit?

I've found a little bit of money to get some more models to work my Heresy-era army, and I'm trying to decide on one thing. I'm planning on getting a Storm Eagle and the little red books, and those are pretty set. The Storm Eagle has always looked to me like a good deal, and since I'm planning on running a couple of Predator squadrons and a Sicaran in my Heavy Supports, it gives me some decent anti-air in my Fast Attack along with a great way to deliver some Terminators when I want them, plus it just looks like a great kit.

For the remainder of the order, though, I was considering a Spartan, so I can transport a full Tactical squad or another set of Terminators. However, I've heard horrible things about the kit itself. Is it really all that bad? I'm not 100% sold on getting it for my army (could always get some Deimos predators instead), but I wanted to get other people's thoughts on it before I bit the bullet.

A Storm Eagle and A Spartan?

Let me tell you right now: Rubber Bands WILL be your best friends.

My Spartan took me 2-3 hours to put together and I've heard others say roughly the same. The Storm Eagle as well I heard about being difficult.

Its not that its hard, its just time consuming. Getting the parts to fit juuuust right. Since they're resin they're obviously softer and more pliable than plastic (except for the giant chunks that are the side sections of a Spartan) a lot the assembly process will probably be bending pieces back into shape and such.

The main issue you'll encounter with the Spartan is aligning the tracks, so be ready for some hiccups there. The rest of the kit is pretty straightforward and easy.

Can't comment on the Storm Eagle.

But once its all said and done, its totally worth it. Gorgeous Models.
