Salamanders List A2

[Arik Taranis]

Having read a lot of the Salamanders army lists on B&C and abandoning my previous attempt at an army list I have decided to try my hand at this again, however this time I really want my army to have the feel of a Salamanders fluffy force whilst still being able to hold there own in combat against most foes that I may face. So with out further ado I present to you the list that I have come up with

HQ:

 

Legion Praetor (representing Artellus Numeon) with Mantle of the Eldar Drake, Dragonscale Storm Shield, MC Paragon Blade, Volkite Charger  170 pts.

 

Primus Medicae with Cataphractii Amour and Dragonscale Storm Shield (for Firedrakes)  90 pts.

 

Legion Command Squad with 5 man, Legion Standard, Melta Bombs, 4 Power Weapons, Lightning Claws, 2 Combi - Bolter and 2 Volkite Charger  250 pts.

 

 

Troops:  

 

Firedrake Terminator Squad with 10 Terminators, 8 with TH and SS, 1 with TH and Heavy Flamer and Sergeant with MC Power Weapon and SS  620 pts.

 

Firedrake Terminator Squad with 10 Terminators, 8 with TH and SS, 1 with TH and Heavy Flamer and Sergeant with MC Power Weapon and SS  620 pts.

 

Legion Veteran Tactical Squad with 10 Marines Heavy Flamer, Melta Gun and Sergeant with MC Power Fist  250 pts.

 

 

Fast Attack:

 

Legion Storm Eagle Assault Gunship with T - L Multi - Melta, 2 T - L Lascannon and Extra Armour  275 pts.

 

 

Heavy Support:

 

Land Raider Proteus with Extra Armour, Heavy Flamer and T - L Heavy Flamer  245pts.

 

Spartan Assault Tank with Armoured Ceramite  315 pts.

 

Deredeo Pattern Dreadnought with T - L Heavy Flamer, Armoured Ceramite and Aiolos Missile Launcher  240 puts.  

 

 

LOW:

 

Vulkhan  425 pts.

 

 

SO what do we think should I get rid of anything should I swap some units for others, Keep in mind however that this list can change when it needs to compete in a smaller game

First thing that jumps out at me: the Deredeo is a Heavy Support choice, not an Elites choice. You do, however, have a HS slot open (or three if the Proteus and Spartan are being used as Dedicated Transports), so that's not an issue.

You have an astonishingly low model count for what looks to be 3500 point games.

My Bad Fixed it. Thanks for picking that up Calson. And as for the amount of models that I have in this force, its not to bad for 3500 point game. Considering that I can drop the command squad, Vulkhan and the Proteus and be pretty close to 2500 points.
