The only thing I can't figure out is why the helmet would hang like that - It feels like it should be side on/facing down as it hangs from the back of the helmet and his thigh is pushing past it?

Other than that though, it's fantastic. I really like the high contrast lighting you've got going on.

Yep, was wondering the same thing.

Otherwise, fantastic job :)

Along with the swirl of the mist, this is to imply movement.

The helmet moves in his hip as he moves his leg forward. If I would have put the helmet just hanging sideways on his hip, it would imply a very static pose. I was trying to imply that he actually alreay started to move.

Nevertheless, it's what you see/like/think that get you there. :) glad you like the rest.

Aaaaah, right. Makes more sense now. But I still think that rotating the helmet slightly more to the left (his right) would reinforce that movement you're trying to represent :)

But whatever, it's still a great piece!

Really great picture! Really gives out the grim character of a space-marine, though I must admit that it is twice as great as it was done with a shiny smooth ultramarine... wait! he's got facial hair! Its a space wolf in disguise! Got ya! msn-wink.gif
